Absolutely incredible. The 24 hour snowfall record for October, which stood for 36 years, shattered a mere 8 day old, was broken again this morning. The summit picked up 27.5 inches of snow again with this latest storm, 25.7 of it in 24 hours, breaking the old record of 25.5 inches set on October 17th. We’ve had 72 inches of snow now in the last 12 days, nearly 25 % of a normal year’s total!!!

Listening to 1080AM here in CT, and their weatherman said Mt.W got 6' of snow already.
64' = 5.34 feet so I guess he was close.
WOW
Time to take a weekend trip up to shuffle around and earn some turns

REMEMBER STRANGE ATYPICAL WEATHER MAKES STRANGE ATYPICAL AVALANCHES!
Tuckerman and Huntington Ravines have HIGH avalanche danger. Natural and human triggered avalanches are likely on a variety of aspects and angles. Unstable slabs are likely and travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended.

It's going to be torture for me.. I'll be up in the Valley this weekend, looking up at Washington every chance I get, but have no time to do anything about all that snow. 1 ft at the base of the auto road!! It's just begging to be skied.

I know, I wouldnt be here if I was in control of what I was doing right now, but unfortunately I have this school thing...Ugh. Its early yet though, this winter could be big, as 72 inches on Washington in October, well, its so big that its almost double what they saw in the 2nd snowiest October.

CO eh? If you do go, let me know.... I'll warn me buds out there.... just so their kids aren't in your classes. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Really now..... I'ld say go for it! It's a bit dryer and higher and you do get real snowdays that you can ride at your local fav. Put in now unless you have to get whatever amount of time under your belt .... I know you'ld love it out there!
