In case you didn't see it... this article was in today's Globe:

http://tinyurl.com/9mf75

Some highlights:
"Keep your mittens and hat handy and get ready for a wintry ride on the ''polar coaster.""

and,

"The coldest weather will be in the Northeast, which also will see plenty of snow, the almanac said."

and finally,

"The 189-year-old publication claims 80 to 85 percent accuracy for the forecasts by its reclusive prognosticator, Caleb Weatherbee."

I'm ready for an epic season. This heat and humidity has worn out its welcome with me.

Excellent! I want:

1. Another 571 inch season at Jay
2. So much snow in Tux that whenever I get there in the spring all the lines are skiable
3. Enough snow so when I climb in August there is snow in the ravine.

By the way, when I went to the Observatory the staff said that the last Tux snow disappeared on August 3rd...

:)

The year' that I haven't bought a season pass generally ended up being epic years... when I did, they were pretty horrible.

I haven't bought a pass yet...

I've pretty much given up on season passes.... for the above listed reasons. As a result, I've supported various ski resorts during those feeble winters.

That Almanac listed isn't the REAL almanac... even though I like what this one is saying. I haven't picked up my latest copy yet.... it'll be interesting this year for sure.

I know, but I like the forecast, so I'm going with it... unless the Old Farmer's Almanac comes up with an even better one... :D

I might actually get a chance to ski the new Tram Line they cut a few years back.

I asked blade girl about it when we skiied it together, and she said that I rarely gets skiied cause there never is enough snow to cover all the rocks ! :envy:

It was skied quite a bit last year during the month of snow we had. At the time I was surprised how long it was open as before last year I had never been at Cannon while it was open.

Iwas there when it was open, didn't ski it....Legs were cooked from Mitter-Laps.

BTW Cannon is very cold, windy, and icey....

I dont think I would go back
