CopyCat Forum?

ALERT!!! :confused:
I stumbled across this website: www.snowboarding2.com.
Check out the Forums. Look familiar? Is this a blatant copy of the TFT forum or are they both based upon the same template ( perhaps freeware template)? I even noticed in their member list that there is an imposter "gosnow". The audacity!

I think it is VBulletin.....most forums look the same cause they use that....

This and MANY forums are " Powered by: vBulletin Version 3.0.0 Release Candidate 2" like it says at the bottom of your screen right now.

This board has been around a lot longer than most though... at least since 1998 as a really early version of "post a message on the message board" thing.

Yup vBulletin is probably the most popular forum software. Next would be phpBB. vB cost a few $$'s, phpBB is free. UBB has been popular in the past (used it for T4T for several years) but is not as efficient as a database driven forum like vB.

Anyways there are lots of boards using vB but generally look a lot different cosmetically. Many sites like T4T do a lot of extra customizing with hacking of the vB code, but it comes 'out of the box' with a lot of customizing options.
