View Full Version : Have I got a TREAT for you!
Through a little detective work, I was able to find this view from the wildcat cam:
Sweet (http://www.mountwashington.org/cam/ravines/tuckerman.jpg)
I think it updates evert 15 min or so. I have to hit Control-F5 to get the picture to refresh for sure.
How's that for FRESH TUCKERMAN!
MMMmmm...

A little more work and I find:
Summit Shot (http://www.mountwashington.org/cam/ravines/summit.jpg)
Dave: I dunno about posting a link... maybe we wanna keep this little gem a secret? Not to be prudish, but if mtwashington.org starts seeing a ton of reuqests for these pages, they might go away.

Found another one:

In any event, they make me wish I were there instead of here at work!

BladeGirl: Those links were definatly NOT on the mountwashington site. I don't know why they would be though. The tuckerman one is such a perfect view of the conditions. They may be holding out on them for members or something like that. I dunno.
Either way, I wish I had that link all year. I would have captured it and made another screen saver showing the snow slowly melt.

Hey :ma:
Dave: I dunno about posting a link... maybe we wanna keep this little gem a secret? Not to be prudish, but if mtwashington.org starts seeing a ton of reuqests for these pages, they might go away.99.9% of sites appreciate another site promoting them. I doubt they would mind considering they are many links over to the Mt Washington.org home page on various pages within T4T, besides the direct cam links.
I've never meet a site that doesn't like traffic yet. Hey we'd welcome links from them to T4T with open arms too!
Dave:
Before I found the tuckerman zoom view, I sent a message from the MountWashington.org website asking if it existed. Sean Doucette replied and told me about it, and it is excatly as I theorized: They plan on offering it as a members only type thing. He told me about the link, and asked that I keep it under my hat. As the provider of the content I believe he has the right to make that request. I think we should remove the zoomed link from the top of the page.
I'll send you Sean's email via private message. I encourage you to contact him about linking to that view.
This is all an effort to preserve the availability of that content... for the use of the Toni Matt Club! Viva Toni Matt!

Hi :ma:
Ok that explanation clears things up. I've removed the links until I get a chance to chat with him.

M@,
The screen saver is a good idea... That would be pretty cool! You could show the snow melt, and then morph it into a mug of beer!!! :D
I've got a screen saver that I made from the Tuckerman.Org site. Here's the link:
http://www.weirdtable.org/~m/tuckerman/tux.scr
I've got some images from the TuxCamZoom that I'll put into a new screen saver sometime this week. I'll make sure to put a frosty mug of Duff in one of the images somewhere. And only you will see it, as only you will be looking for it.
