Mt Tripyramid, North Peak, North Slide. Faces NNW average gradient 29.5 degrees on 1200 feet of vertical for 2250 feet of sliding (just under 1/2 mile or about 0.68 of a kilometer). Some of the bushy shots ain't so bushy any more.

The series starts with a look down after acsending 60 meters

Then a look up from the same spot

Then looking up a steep and narrow LZ In The upper Exit Chute about 150 meters above the previous shot. The area below the LZ is wide and well tended, giving ample time to deal with the landing and putting on the brakes.

The Exit Chute starts where the shadow ends

The previous frame was taken at the bottom of this stitch

This is about 10 meters higher and 20 meters to skiers right. The slide is 40 meters wide here and gets wider above

Your reporter, as usual, sittin down on the job. That's Mt Washington left of center. It gets steeper above this and stays steeper for another 150 meters, to a 2 meter cairn.

This is the view of the top. Mt. Tecumseh (Waterville Valley Ski Area) and the Osceolas are prominent, left to center.

That cairn is way over 6' high! There's another 5 meters of slide behind this viewpoint.

Nice pics, looks like you hit the peak of foliage season! I'm confused though, do people ski there or is it just for hiking?

I believe that people ski there, although I have never had the pleasure myself. It's actually on my list of places to hit this winter...

(A rather long list ;) )

BB this place rox! I have seen the Slide with snow and feel that some of the terrain down low is ideal for boarders to score some flight time. It gets narrow and concave....grins.

I hope you can join us. The target date is after MLK Day and depends on missing the January Thaw. Early February is the backup plan. Bring your own fixins, I'm bringing a small propane grill.

People definitely ski there, as well as ice climb (not usually at the same time, but sometimes).
