Nope drpiddle, DMC says he drinks a HUGE gatorade :waterbottle: :waterbottle: first thing! This sounds sadistic! I'd die! Rather ski straight off the lip than do that to my bladder. Bet he is a dancin while on the phone too!

Peeing is never my first priority... I probably should drink more water on the hike back down but I tend to just hammer until I make it... So I'm probably a tad bit dehydrated.
I also take care of that stuff before the hike... :)

Pack-Drop-Gasm is great. Total anti-gravity.

I usually sit on the back of the car and jot a few notes in the Palm about the trip.

And then

:outhouse: first, then I weigh the pack. I've found the before & after weight difference is significant (water is pretty heavy).

drop to the ground, take my boots off and drink a beer

Weigh the pack, trudge to the car or the room at the Dodge, fling pack, get soap, towel and bag of fresh clothes, trudge to shower.......

Then I get a coffee from my thermos. Then I either drive towards Marguerita Grille (the old Contour knows the way) or take a nap, waiting for the dinner gong...ohhh I love that sound!

Yes so true BladeGirl. I'm just not sure how accurate that scale is though. In past years I used to bring my scale from home and measure up before heading to Pinkham. Now I don't bother.

It's the darn cameras that blow the weight budget. I'd leave extra clothes and food behind before I'd go without a few cameras.

Actually last trip the first thing I did was go shopping in the store at Pinkham  so my apre-tux activities probably go like this...

skip the :scale: - enter :pinkham: - go :outhouse: - buy :tshirt: - take off :hikingboots: - :hummer: to Shannondors - drink :beermug: :beermug: - get semi :nakedguy: - soak in :hottub: - eat some :pizza: and :cookies: - take off :shorts: - jump in :sleepingbag:

No party after the :pizza: :mumster: ? :skicdave:
No party. The :hottub: was broken (add tearful graemlin), and the skidude was the only other person I knew.
So we :pizza: , I :beermug: , then we zzzzzzzzzz.

Hopefully, I will party next time......

You'll have to join our party next year mumster. We usually have a gang of 10 or more. Main trip is usually Easter or Victoria day weekend (week before memorial). Most of us are 35-50ish. Couples and a few singles. We usually break in a few kids on the trip too. We're hikers and skiers capable of partying, sometimes as late as 11pm!!. :beermug: :cooldog: Us Canucks eh!?

P.S. Don't

The only 2 times i made the hike down my buddy and i felt the need to run windsprints all over the parking lot. Mind you this is with backpacks on and we would take the time to remove our hiking boots and put on our ski/snowboard boots for the full effect. very nice. just how we like to relax down here in philly. windsprints, nature's lazyboy.

do i need to say i am kidding? just a long hot shower, talc, fermented hops, grub and hang with some of my kind buds :D is actually how we did it both times.

man, i love humidity

Take off my skis! And then ski boots.

I haven't hiked down in years. You won't belive how much nicer it is to take off your skiboots at the car as opposed to unload a heavy pack!

After that a dry shirt, water and a phone call home....

Parking lot, forget it. When it is nice I go as far as the grass in front of :pinkham: and get horizontal. Then I have the last of my :waterbottle: and soak in the thoughts of the :tucks: ! The last thing I need to do is :outhouse: because I don't get into the  until after I get a nice hot :raining: Of course that is after I kick off my :hikingboots: and drop my :shorts: Then, it is time for a :beermug: or :beermug: :beermug:
Now, the next time I go I want to be able to take off my :skiboots: instead of my :hikingboots: right at the :scale: at :pinkham: That's the way to go! Next year, yea! Bill

Drop the pack...Change footwear...hit the can...buy a sticker and then hit BK.

I'm with CastleRock. It's much nicer to take off the skis at the car. I've gone a couple times and actually just sat on the tailgait of the Jeep with the skis still on. The hike down sucks.
