Please excuse my ignorance, but where is the North Slide located? Is it here in NH? I only moved here recently from Woburn so I'm not familiar w/ everything.
I'm heading to CT this weekend so I couldn't join you, but it sounds great. Enjoy!
East of Waterville Valley, on Mt. Tripyramid. Reach the North Slide Trail off the Livermore Road (a WMNF road not open to motor vehicles except by concessioner's permit, for logging or maintaining the "backside" of the WV cross country ski network).
Livermore Road parking is at "Depot Camp", near the eastern end of the Tripoli Road. Access from Waterville Valley except in high summer, as the Tripoli Road can be gated anytime there's snow on it, as well as all winter long.
Reach the North Slide Trail 3.5 miles ENE of Depot Camp parking lot (Trailhead in the parking lot is at the WMNF map kiosk). Another .4 miles gets you to the slide and another .27 miles gets you to the top of it (slabby open rock with some brush for most of the slide). The summit of North Tripyramid is another few minutes beyond. If it's raining or slick with scant snow cover, it's often recommended that one descends the gravelly south slide. From there, take the South Slide Trail back to the Livermore Road and turn left to reach Depot Camp.

Thanks for the info, I'll print it out & add it to my list! The closest I've been to there is a winter hike up Mt Tecumseh.
