Ok, I'm out of the loop on this. You guys talk about being on "9.14" on your two ways. Are there any special two ways that you need to have for these communications? I was poking around at some Uniden two ways, good up to 8 miles, said they were a 22 channel transciever, etc... I guess what I'm asking is, Are all two way radios compatible, or is there a certain specific "something" I should be looking for? Their prices have come down considerably huh? Two years ago you couldn't touch these things for under a bill, now they're like 30 bucks...

Most two-ways with 2 mile of better range have the Interference Eliminator Codes or "privacy settings".
Those are the small digits to the right of the large channel digits on most radios.

I would suggest that the T4T channel be changed. It is a "low" power FRS only channel.
GMRS channels that have the longer range are channels 1-7. Above that it is FRS only with the shorter range.

And it works, too. If only my friend "Rob" and RR "Rob" weren't both answering me at the same time. It led to a little confusion, but we figured things out.
