Dave, what script is running in every forum (that I have looked at so far) other than the TMC? I am getting a firefox incompatibility. When I go into a thread in any forum other than the TMC, the window pops up saying a script is causing firefox to run slow. I have to click ok to disable the script everytime. Is there some plugin that I need to get, or maybe one of my extensions is causing this? All I know is that nothing has changed on my browser, and this started happening a few days ago...

Hmmm.. think I know what one that might be... let me take a look and then have you retry.

Personally I have tried firefox and hated it, although a lot of fold and media rave about it. Seemed I was looking everywhere for plugins that were needed... even basic ones and too many sites wouldn't work with it. Way to much hassle. So I hoofed it. I used to swear by Netscape and curse IE several years back. Now I only use IE since it works 95% of the time and is certainly more stable than the others. Netscape used to be great, but now its becoming a dud... and I'm using latest/greatest hardware/OS too. Puters! Humbugs!

I get back to you shortly to test my theory...

Heh..

Can't say as I have ever had a problem with FireFox and T4T. Could it be an extension that you have installed Elwood? I know that I had to stop using one of the developer extensions because it kept causing my browser to freeze intermittently every few minutes.

All I can say is that every thread I look at (with the exception of threads in the TMC forum) I get the following error:

Hmm... well there is a ton of javascript in the threads.

I commented out all the scripts related to DOH and FRESHTUX.

Try now and let me know.

Good! I thought it was DMC that had some issue like that before.. or was it just the on mouse over DOH and FRESHTUX that was the issue...

Does firefox handle the embedded sounds elsewhere? roll call for example or the disinfo minister?

I am pretty sure firefox passes off embedded sounds to quicktime. Which is why I haven't upgraded qt, because I hate embedded sounds...

You'll hate the roll call calendar then ;)

One of the items on my to do list is to add a number of user selectable options in their profile, one of which is enable/disable embedded sounds. Come soon enough! This will be part of the 'supporting member' features due one day...

FWIW I use FireFox for mac and don't experience the problems of which you speak. On another note, "roll over Homers" don't do anything here. Infact, I'm not even sure what they ARE supposed to do. The rollcall calender DID take me by surprise though.

The roll over code played homers DOH sound bite and the Fresh Tux said...er 'Fresh Tux!'. There were an option when posting a message. Rarely used, except by me mainly.
