How do you get there? Don't think we've done that yet, and sounds like a good plan for this weekend. How do you climb uop? Ski boots, or do yo need skins?

I-Lean:
Hillman's base is pretty close to HoJo (hermit lake). I usually put ski boots on there (that is, I wake up and put on ski boots) and hike from there in ski boots. If you're facing the ravine it's a trail to the left, behind the sign in the picture on this page up there... Walk over the bridge over the stream, and turn right and you're headed up HillMan's. (If you turn left, your headed down the CLOSED sherburn ski trail)

I always hike up in ski boots. Some folks like to change boots at the top.

HillMan's is about 30min from the lunch rock/ravine area though. I think you can ski from HillMan top down the RavineLeft Gulley, but I've never done it. If you're planning on getting married in the ravine, you'll prob want to skip hillman's on saturday. But if your up for two days (like I am) then HillMan's is an excellent Friday run.

I am assuming you dont get cold feet and still get married in tucks on sat http://timefortuckerman.com/ubb/smile.gif when you are ready to head back, climb up left gully to the top then hike the ridge south (boot spur trail downwards away from summit) till you get to the hillmans entrance. Ski hillmans down to hermit lake. Bonus - you beat the walk down from the ravine, get to ski down. I know people usually like to hike what they ski for no surprises but as long as the weather is consistent hillmans doesnt hold too many surprises....did it last year took about 20 min from top of left gulley to hillman entrance...

Peace
