i was at tuckermans ravine last may from the 19th to the 21st... while i was there it was like going into the arctic... we got about a foot of snow over the weekend and staying in the lean-to's was cold as hell... i am trying to get something together again with my buddies for this year around the same time. im from PA so the trip is a "trip" to say the least. i was just wondering if last year was a fluke... or if in late may there is usually still a ton of snow up there, and if my trip will be worth while again this year... any help is appriciated..

it all depends on the short term weather. i was there two weeks before you in t-shirt and mashed potatoes. You will only get a feel for what the weather will be like thursday before a weekend trip and even then there are no guarantees esp on the mountain...so im sure you know that a foot dump and nippy nip temps are quite possible in may but warmer days are more probable

I was there last year at the same time. I have been going there for the last 12 years. The weather we got there last year wasn't the norm...but there has always been skiing in Tucks whenever I was there in mid to late May.
Forest Gump should have said "life is like Mount Washington weather...you'll never know what you're going to get."
