South Uncanoonuc, Goffstown.
Supposed to get some snow Monday. This is an exploratory run to identify, flag and make some turns on potential future glades. Park at the bottom and drive to the top, beer guts unite! I've skied a lot of this stuff, but it would be better with another 12" or so. Still there will be freshies to be had and you'll get to explore some new spots.

No takers eh? Well good call - the weather report looks like rain, at least early on, so that nice powder stash I left alone for a later date will go unskied. Gotta get over that hoarding instinct I guess... I might bring my stuff just in case it snows instead though!

Where is this place and what kind of skiing does it offer. I'm trying to get as much info as a I can on other places to expand my backcountry skiing adventures outside of Tuckerman. I'd love to ski some other places so any information would be much appreciated.

Mountain Rd. in Goffstown. 2 mountains, north & south. South has a road up it, I think it's called Summit Rd.. There's a hiking trail down, but the skiing is mostly finding you way through the trees off the side of the trail. It's not real steep in most parts, but pretty dense sometimes and you have to be good at avoiding downfall, punjis, etc. Fun tele. South Moutnain has several hiking trails to ski down...

And watch out for the usual.... snow snakes, rock rats, Whipping Willows, etc, etc. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif And DO wear a helmet! At least I strongly suggest it..... it's a real pain to drag a body outta the woods.
Otherwise have fun! There is much unexplored terrain for sliding devices out there. Keep us posted as to what you find as well. Good luck, Mr. Phelps if you so choose to accept this mission. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif
