I just wanted to try out the site however I am curious to see how the trail is going. I was wondering how long it would last. I like to 'Do The Bowl' at least once a year but I concider myself lazy. I like to be able to ski to the parking lot (or at least to the last area where the trail meets the ski trail). Anyone have a guess? A clear sunny day when you can see forever is prefered as long as the lounge is open at the base of the bowl.

Best bet is to check www.tuckerman.org (www.tuckerman.org) They have avalanche info as well as Sherburne trail updates. However, the avi danger can change quickly, so you'll need to check again once you're there. Also, keep checking this site for Trip Reports and conditions.
I would say right now the Sherburne trail is pretty freaking great, with all the new snow. Even if you couldn't venture up into the bowl, it'll be a sweet ride down from Hojos/shelters. Hard to say how long it'll last for (top to bottom), but if the noreaster hits up there next week it'll help extend it's life.
P.S. Welcome!

Yes! Yes, the snow IS cold and will remain so until melted. I hope that helps. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Oh yeah...... welcome aboard.... and uhhhh, this whole Tuckerman thing gets slippery in the winter. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Don't mind me... it's late Friday afternoon and I can smell a big snowstorm coming a few days away and I'm getting itchy to slide again.
PWDR8S sense of snow......ooooohhh.... freaky!

You say you consider yourself lazy? I find that hard to believe. Most "normal" people wouldn't even THINK about going up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail with 35-60 pounds of gear on!! I've had so many people in the past say "Now, WHY do you do that?" I say "Because it's fun"
