May I get some advice about lodging in the area of Tucks?
We are staying the night before skiing Tucks at John Brooks Lodge
but we also wanted to stay in the area for a few more days. We
don't feel like staying in Gorham, having done so several times, because
there's nothing going on there and especially since they closed our
favorite Italian restaurant in town.
We never stayed at, been through or seen Jackson or North Conway
or points in between. What are they like? Sleepy, lively, pretty, etc.
Are they good places to stay/eat/shop/go out at night? Any recommendations? Thanks.

If your coming from the South North Conway is wee bit closer and a lot nicer IMO. I wouldn't go as far to say anything anywhere near that area is lively in terms of night life. Jackson certainly isn't and i see you've already experinced Gorham. North Conway is cool though. There is PLENTY of shopping if that's your bag and also a good array of places to eat and bars to catch a brew. It's a purdy place as well.

We went to the Tuckerman Resturant on Friday and it was a madhouse!!!
Lots of middle aged looking dudes wearing Spider jackets... Eyeing up the young waitresses...
The wait for a table was an hour and a half.. We ate at the bar...
...We ate at the bar...Right close to the 40 taps....man, you sure are living large!

No doubt... I drank my fair share cause we were within walking distance..
Anchor Steam on tap.... Sweeet!!! Amongst others...
Alexa drank wiskey... ;)
Night Life Central in the Tuckerman Ravine area is the Red Parka pub. If you can stay walking distance to there, you'll be set for night life.

I really like shelter #4, I also like #7....I know the chef in both of them and the management won't squawk when I bring my own liquor (quietly) and smoke my cigars.....
