Sluff (small rivers of snow) only occur when its really warm. If there are any, you just avoid them, no reason to not go because there were sluffs one day last week. I doubt you'd be disappointed going this weekend, in fact skiing should be great for several weeks yet.

Snow rivers are no reason not to go. If there are snow rivers it means the snow is soft and very skiiable everywhere but the rivers.
I bet you could probably learn to ski in a snow river and have a really good time! Sloshing from side to side... It's just not something people are used to.
Like I said, they go straight down, so ski between them and you'll be fine.
There were no snow rivers on hillmans, perhaps it wasn't steep enough.
But like "Clueless" seems to have missed, the skiing is like 1/2 the expierence. It's a great crowd and wonderfull expierence. If you happen to find a nice line over the headwall and nail it, that's icing on the cake.
