On Sunday morning I'm giving my new splitboard setup its first run :) Gonna spend the morning knocking around Uncanoonuc North Peak, skin up and see what's left from recent snow.
Love to meet any T4T's who are interested in a short skin, hike and ride - gotta get back early afternoon to prep for my Patriot-ic party back in Arlington.
And any generous soul with willingness to share a beta stash about the mountain, PM me and I will reciprocate in some fashion by the end of the season - maybe reveal the location of my secret Tux Speckled Hen stash.

I'm really amped about the splitboard. Voile sent me cants to use with my AT boot/plate bindings and it feels practically bionic, with a much more natural feeling than I could have hoped for.

Any chance you can make it Saturday AM? Even though we got 3 inches of new snow last night, there isn't alot of cover left, and with the higher temps forecast for the next few days i fear that by sunday you may be SOL. I'll probably make a few runs tomorrow morning, and am expecting it to be barely
worthwhile.

Yup, I know Sunday may be late, but it's all I've got - kids' hockey rules my *ss on saturdays :) At minimum I hope to get a feel for the possibilities of the terrain and get in a climbing workout. If you go on tomorrow and have any beta please post it or PM me.

Humm?? I would love to check that place out Steve, but I have concerns about the snow cover as well. My plan was to skin around Mt.A and check out some stashes on Second Hill, which I know will still have deep steep snow, more skinning than boarding though. My biking buddies will all be on snow shoes since the trails are too soft. 7am at the base parking lot of Aggie if you'd' like to join us Steve. We received a good 4 inches last night, but its pretty much melted down in the sunny spots now. I would say our base ranges 10" to 15", deeper in the woods. Main trails are good and packed.
Some good beta on Uncanoonuc conditions would persuade me to join you Steve. Next dumpage for sure!

If The Big A has the goods I could be persuaded to check that out - certainly seems within range and the recent storms have been coastal for sure.
