Looks like we're getting some healthy dumpage here in So. NH - a good 4 inches so far and more in the forcast.
So I'm thinking Guido and I invite you all along for the trip planning process.
My initial thought is RIGHT NOW! Cause it's snowing, but alas I am at work. So next logical time would be tommorow - but personally friday's work better becuase I'm not helping the lovely wife get the kids ready for school on fridays, so I can do the precision morning strike.
Now: Let's check the astronomical info to verify that morning window:
To do that I goto the Naval Observatory (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.html) and enter the date/location.
And I find that Civil Twilight (the earliest you really wanna be hiking in the woods) is 6:34am. That works great for me! Outta bed a couple min before 6, on the road at 6, at the trail head by 6:30. Earlier is possible, as it always takes a bit to get ready and all nothing ever goes that close to plan.
Next: Let's look at the weather, my site for that is the source of all good weather data, the NOAA website for Goffstown (http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/NHZ012.php?warncounty=NHC011&city=Goffstown) - and right now (now = wed morn) we're looking at 10deg high for friday, after a -7deg thursday night. Works for me.
So: Short version = Who'se up for a 6:30am morning Guido Run?
Currently I am 60%
