The only reason I don't go to Quebec* more often is that it's such a hassle to get my long-haired self back into the USA....and that kinda makes me want to make the next visit permanent!

* Let me count the reasons:
1-Winter is real
2-Lots of hockey games to watch
3-climbing in the winter
4-climbing in the summer
5-the pay is lower, but so are the expenses
6-the people are by and large much nicer to each other
7-conversation is considered to be more worthwhile than going to the movies and much better than watching TV
9-self-importance is considered a vice, tollerated, but only just
and
number ten on the list of top ten reasons for moving to Quebec forever: Food and Wine are considered more important than status, infact, as a dirtbag bike racer, sitting at table with the Mayor and other dignitaries at a banquet was a joy on two occasions as we were all seeing the benefits of #7 above.

DMC We do what we can. I may get my first turns this weekend.

1-Winter is real (except in Toronto where 1" of snow means cetain traffic death)
2-Lots of hockey games to watch (NHL RIP, thank god for Junior A)[/B]

4-climbing in the summer
5-the pay is lower, but so are the expenses
6-the people are by and large much nicer to each other ("NO TRESPASSING please")
7-conversation is considered to be more worthwhile than going to the movies and much better than watching TV (only because there has been crap releases as of late :D )
9-self-importance is considered a vice, tollerated, but only just(its hard to be self important when your entire military could fit in a Tim Horton's)

What about our beer? I hear it is pretty good.

Come on up....there is plenty of room on the floor at Casa Bannick.

I think what makes me want to move to the CAN the most is our idiot president.

I cant believe the new bull**** plan hes rolling out. It was on 60mins I think the other night. I almost died.

One which isnt so scary but it shows you who hes protecting is.
Hes putting a cap on law suits againsted insurance companys. Now if you look at it, hes only protecting the insturance companys, not the little man, who got a second butt hole when he went in for a prostate exam.

GOD DO I HATE THAT MAN !!!

Hes not my president !!!!!

It also seems that whoever he apoints to any position comes up with a shady past or is a money laundering criminal.

Hummm the last guy who just declined the nomination..= shady past.

Haliberton = Greedy Criminals

And countless others.

Here is a dumb man surrounding him self with evil people rather than smart people.

and did you see the dumb white house movie featuring his dog. I feel bad for his dog.

Funny, but I figured from the title of this thread it was going to be another picture of a ski/board babe in a bikini...

Ha ha Bladegirl! Yes we have more than just great looking :cutegirl: in Canada.

Cross your fingers folks... all the previous storms seemed to dump right in our backyard and never made it south.

Latest reports are that Tremblant is 1/3 open.. not bad for mid Dec.

I am looking at schools in Canada, if its possible I might not come back to the States.

RR, I have more problems with Boarder Patrol inside the US on 91 coming back from NH or on 87 then I do at customs coming back into the US.

Being that I have no idea what I want to do with my self my options are wide open. I just need to get out of New Jersey

UBC or the University of Victoria for law

I may skip the JD and go with an MBA

I may also get a third undergraduate degree and get a BS in accounting then become a CPA.

I have a few friends in Calgary that think I would be very happy there so I will check into schools there this week

My quasi girlfriend is Canadian and is in the same position as me, it would be cheaper for both of us to go to school in Canada then to go school in the states.

Sweet,

I have friends that have done masters and phd's (in Science) at Calgary, UBC and UVic. For pure snow enjoyment potential UBC or Calgary would win. UVic is a bit out there, isolated from snow (tho there is potential) Mt. Washington is up island a few hours. However, victoria has a really laid back, slow way of life. Lots of retirees due to the good weather and very few snow days.

Calgary has lots of snow potential and they get chinooks which tends to keep the snow and cold in the mountains and provides a sweet little blast of warm temps in the middle of winter every now and then. OH and the flames used to offer way cheap student tickets to their games (not sure if they still do or will now that the NHL is pretty much dead...)

Vancouver gets lots of rain....which means snow in the mountains (most times). When it snows in Vancouver....call in dead it is gonna be epic. I have livved off and on in Whislter and Vancouver over the years. I spent one of the rainiest falls of my life in Vancouver in 96....I am still wringing out my socks.

We still look towards the west to settle too....work here is busy tho so it is hard. Need to pay off debts first.
