DMC emailed me last night and said he would like to take some time away from the board. He'll be back, we will see him once the snow falls.

Well no threads have been nuked that I know of, unless by the author. This board is pretty open and the only 'moderating' that goes on is to edit the odd word (bad boy lango), unfortunately that goes for the original title of this thread unfortunately.

m@ may have flexed a little moderator muscle...or DMC is lurking...

Question that illuminates my newbie status: can the originator of a New Topic remove the entire thread (by removing his or her initial post or otherwise)? If so, that's a lot of power given to the thread originator -- effectively the power to delete the posts of others; I'd suggest that only moderators have the ability to nuke a thread, if that's not already the case.

Sorry...I didn't think that was considered Bad Boy Lingo. I'll be good.

You mean that it's DMC who removed both them ? Yes indeed it was... I saw absoluetly no value to Franks repsonse to the posts... And after they got all edited - it just didn't make sense anymore.... The negativity tends to draw me in.. So - poooooof!!! gone...

Never said I saw leaving just backing down a little... Like Elwood said - until I see some snow...

Going to leave my views about Quebec for other places..

This place is about Tucks... and our love of the place... Not about teaching a kid how to live in the world without getting the **** kicked out of him..

My contract at work ends in a month - so I gotta really put my nose to the old grindstone and get busy....

PEACE Y'ALL!!!!!

DMC,

I have enjoyed your posts, found laughter in your humor, and envy for for all the riding you seem to do.

Best of luck finding a new gig!

I didn't edit a thing. The only moderator power I've flexed is to post a couple (albeit way off topic) polls.

What ?? no sense. Hey, because of you, it's me that still look like a mega Jerk cause you deleted twice my explanations for yesterday and the fact that it was a translation error + bad interpretation....

Can't we just forget all this ???????

You don't have to teach me nothing in the world. I wouldn't like to learn nothing from you anyway.

What an infernal wheel, all this.... can't we just talk of skiing ?

Not so sure I agree with you The Cephalopod,

I think if you create a thread, you should have the power to destroy it.

Not sure about that Octo... its quite possible, must be possible since neither M@ nor I have deleted any threads... in fact I don't think any threads have ever been deleted. The max I will do is replace the odd questionable word, phrase or abbreviation to keep our PG rating.. I'm not even sure what that thread was about.

You don't have to teach me nothing in the world. I wouldn't like to learn nothing from you anyway. Frank, we could forget about it if you would stop going back to the original thread that created the problem. And comments like that are just agitating the situation. You do have a lot to learn. Maybe you should follow DMC's example and chill out for a while until this thing blows over?

I really know that it's just agitating the situation, but would you be able to not respond, when someone insult you like this ? Think at it...

On the other side, you're right and I was considering it, I may take a time off here. Anyway, it's the hell at school and I can't pass my time to defend me here. So goodbye... thanks to have made my summer so much interesting and sorry to have unvoluntary destroyed the peace here.....

M@, I have something to ask to you... the First Snow Contest... it is a real fun thing and I would appreciate if you can update it...

Definitely. Time for a beer. I'm buying, who's in?!?!?!?

kfarrar

I'm definately in.

Maybe Dave could create us a virual bar on the site. Instead of being 2d avatars we could be 3d avatars.

Our own little VRLM Tuckerman's world. We could create a virtual Tuckermans Ravine and Hojo's.

I'm a modeler, any of you programming guys up for a challenge???

May I prescribe a cold beer and some cold snow... sounds like some people on the board need to chill.

DMC reach out if you want to ride this winter. I'll be packing up the fishing and surfing gear come December, ready to change over to the winter sports.

Cheers...

PS: Tuckerman's (Newport, RI) was 10-15' last Friday/ Saturday.
