As for the skiis....... very carefully! Get one of those big ski bags so you can pack just about everything into it except boots.... Carry your boots on the flight.

Oh yeah... forgot to mention.... if you wear your boots on the aircraft, the security wil insist you remove them for inspection through their x-ray machine.

I agree not even enouhg time to scratch the surface of those great mountians.....never know..maybe you'll get snowed in.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Nothing like light wasatch POW!!!!! Woooo Hoooooo!
As for the skis. I use that ski tube thingy. Hard shell..wheels, etc. SUPER sturdy. Boot I have one of those big bags with the boot pockets on either end. Pack all my stuff in the middle boots on either end (buckles inward learned the hard way they'll rip the bag when they toss it around and those conveyors..OUCH). Check it all. Ski clothes and jacket in CARRYON..this way if nothing you can RENT SKISSS....

Yup. Definitely ride for four days minimum. Even then you'll have to pass by one of the two smaller Cottonwoods resorts :( to get a return day at Alta or Snowbird.
I had my four days in SLC last February, but since Alta "doesn't want me" I had my two days at the Bird, and visited Brighton and Solitude. I can't say that I would have wanted to miss either one of those. Remember: "Here Be Dragons".
