How do I give rep to Steve? Or at least his body-work guy. That woodwork is purty. I like the lights at the campsite - How are they powered? Car batterty?

Steve is a puter guy. He builds cedar strip kayaks on the side and built this first teardrop trailer this winter. Yup its a beaut.

Lights are Coleman lantern Xmas lights. We have a small form marine battery to power lights, radio, DVD etc. Battery lasts us at least 5 days of camping.

Did Steve use plans for his teardrop? If so, any suggestions where I may get my hands on some? I'm thinking of building one myself this winter. I love the pics. Nice job! http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I'd recommend plans from one of:

Desert Teardrop Trailers (http://www.desertteardrops.com/)

Kuffel Creek Press (http://www.kuffelcreek.com/)

Li'l Bear Tag-Alongs (http://www.teardrops.net/LilBear/index.html)

For help in building one, try one of the main community forums where there are oodles of people building them:

Teardrops & Tiny Travel Trailers (http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/index.php)

TeardropTimes (http://teardroptimes.buzzword.com/discuss/)

I have lots of info on ours plus links to everything about :teardrop: at

Excellent! Thanks Dave! I've been a tent camper for years and the convenience and compactness of a teardrop is too hard to pass up.

When you have that model done (skis and jets) let me get a copy of the plans.

You could reinforce it with steel and take it up the auto road... Then just push it down over the headwall..
Could bwe lie a barrel over Niagra or soemthing...

Super toys, super class.

I like Dave's woodie better than my big Woodie (Stop right there, I'm referring to my Arbor snowboard ;) )

If there was a web-site reversal and the group was T4T "Time for Teardrop" the new quotation would be something like "Springtime means Tuckermantime".

Arbor makes great boards. I've ridden the Woodie (now Element), the Heritage and the A-Frame. The Woodie is a great ride, with a very nice intermediate flex pattern and sidecut, and a super fast base. I've ridden the Woodie in all conditions and locations (including bottomless pow) and enjoyed it all.

If the Woodie were beer, it would be something like "Looks great, more thrilling".

A-Frame is more of a big-mountain carving board, quite stiff; it reminds me of the Winterstick Severe Terrain that I just bought to split for my BC riding. :)

Heritage is more flexy, a bit more of a park board; it didn't hold an edge as well at speed on N.E. groomed hardpack as the Woodie or the A-Frame.

Skicdave didn't mention the Teardrop being a chick-magnet (aside from his wife); I suspect it is, because the woody board seems to have some allure.
