Mum, was it last weekend that you went? If it was, I wish I'd known you were going up, we could have hooked up. I was just hiking (Tux trail, Boot Spur, Crawford Path, Summit) If I'd known, I would have hiked more on the other side instead. Of course, there is the fact that, with you having driven up, timing might have been tricky. But you could have taken my skis for me. (I just hiked, didn't bring skis, etc, but if I'd known that you were going to go, maybe I could have driven up instead. Oh, well. Maybe another time. I seem to have a MAJOR ability to be NEAR where other Tucker-people are but never at the same place! Have fun, be safe. Al :skistooge:

Some company while hunting for snow patches :happyhiker: :happyhiker: would have been good. My fault, I didn't decide to go until the last minute.....

I'm looking forward to meeting you one of these days. Also, :skicdave: (with :chair: and Emma), :ma: , :skilas: , the other members of the Tony Matt Club, and also a few people who are approaching Club membership - like BladeGirl, Castlerock, Saxman, RR, and JollyJ........ :skistooge: , Are you working on the T4T fall get-together? I thought we volunteered you to coordinate this important activity. It would provide a great opportunity for people to meet, :happyhiker: , compare :tucks: stories and have a :beermug: or two.

and have a :beermug: or two.Or 20... :D [/QB]BTW, Elwood:
I never match make, but if you were a few years older..or she a few years younger, I'd have the PERFECT woman for you. :lips:
One of my ski cronies... She  before her first run, then  , , after warm-up runs. Has a couple :beermug: for lunch.
She then ski's a few more hours, then  , , long into the night.

She's also a fantastic skier :jumpturn: - lot's better than I. There is NEVER a dull moment when she's around.

(I have to hide from her sometimes because I prefer to :skifemcool: first , -> THEN :beermug: when I'm done ....)

Maybe in another life.....

I was so close to going up to... But I woke up way too late and it was an awesome beach day and the beach was only 4 minutes away as opposed to 4 hours.

Did you find any patches of snow?

And did the folks at Tenney say that without the glitch in the system there actually would have been snow?

Hi :skilas:

I detailed the Gulf trip in the "Recent Photos" and the "Tales of Tuck's" section. The photos show the TWO patches of snow I found - :D One was at the bottom of pipeline (in the Gulf). The other one was on a distant peak. I couldn't gain access to either. But I had terrific fun trying. Unfortunately, I didn't know :skistooge: was just around the corner.

The Tenney issue is harder to answer because it's unclear how much the "glitch" interfered with their true snowmaking capacity and how much of it was an excuse for a failed effort. Time will tell - I read a little about these systems, and don't think they are designed to be effective in extreme summer heat - they target temps in the 60's or lower. Hopefully Tenney will have improved snowmaking function when it isn't sweltering. In any event, they deserve credit for trying.....
