Great report Telehampster!
Sounds like a highly successful endeavor, however, you didn't mention whether either of the other two sliders were successful in sliding at least part of the way down.
"..gadzooks," he says, "that was exciting". Sounds like my favorite kind of day! A little adventure and good company...cool TR btw.

The guy with the sled was able to slide on the steeper parts. I was actually impressed by his ability to control it without crashing into trees and stuff. The guy on mini skis decided the conditions were too dangerous, so he ended up hiking down.

Great trip. Quite a party, from the looks of it. Sandwich Dome was one of my first hiking trail ski descents. Sounds like you took Sandwich Dome Trail (across Drake's Brook at the end)?
I wonder what the snowblader found too dangerous... personally, I find those things easier on the downslope than freeheeling! BG, opinion?

Beats me. :rocks: , :xmastree: :xmastree: , steep is what blades are good for (that is, easy to avoid the two former in the presence of the later). Then again, I wasn't there so would not presume to guess.
Great story and photos, NH, and what a cute white doggie!

In the snowblader's defence, they were a pair made by Karhu that strapped on to normal hiking boots, and were actually freeheel, and had a permanent skin about 1/2 of the length of the base...
Still, I think he could've used them.
That being said, it was very treacherous conditions, with lots of rocks all over the place, and not much base...
