View Full Version : Phish Coventry Glowstick War Video
Here's our 13 second video of sunday's glowstick war.
Glowstick War (http://m.sheppard.net/coventry/glowstick.avi)
A glow stick war is when people in the crowd throw those glow stick things, the chemical glow sticks. This is video of the last glow stick war. We were at the first glow stick war at the clifford ball in Plattsburg, NY (the first big big phish festival). People just decided to do it that first time... and afterwards Trey said, "That was kewl, go get more of those."
Lots of people think this is a bad idea, as they get hit with a glow stick... but I for one believe in the glowstick war. I was wearing my cowbell on sunday around my neck held on with 2 glowsticks. Trey was picking his guitar on sunday with one of the glowsticks.
Sorry for the completely non-tuckerman content, but there are a few phans here... and I don't want to share the video with everyone, just my friends. :)

I don't like glowsticks when they hit some taper's gear causing a loud disturbance in the recording.
But there cool after chocys.

Better glowstick war: Coventry DWD or IT Ghost?
I gotta go with that Ghost at IT...
I guess I am clueless when it comes to the real story of glowstick wars:

Origin and History: The original glowstick war was during Harpua at 11-25-94, UIC Pavillion, Chicago, II
I was at that show! Glowstick war was cool, I remember them being tossed out. But it wasn't anything compared to what happens at Phish shows now...

M@ EDIT *Image deleted*
Big image of desktop (http://timefortuckerman.com/photopost/data/500/1019issue-med.jpg)
Error Message = Unable to Downlaod Appropriate Decompressor
Any clues?
I've seen that error. You don't have the right codec. I suppose I can convert the movie to a windows media file, everyone can see those. The format it's in now is directly from the camera.

Huh? When I watched last night it played in WIndows Media Player automatically. What codec do you need? Divx?
Looks like cliff's got an older version of windows media player.

That was entertaining! I remember getting beaned in the head by one at a show a few years ago. It works great in Windows Media player ver 9.
Thanks for sharing!

I have RealOne Player on my other machine and the f-er still wont work and I wanna see glowstick war! Advise? Don't say go back to college....that took 6 years for a 4 year degree.
And as for GSW's I was in a pretty good one at Hershey during Charater 0 a few moons back. Don't really recall one at Cliff Ball though.

The index to my memory was off there - it was at "The Went" actually... the one where Trey said, "Go get more of those."

Cliff:
I'd update your windows media player if you wanna see it soon. I can convert it to another file format - but not today... working late. Sigh.

Break the Glowsticks open and throw the glowing juice around! Looks soooooooooo cool! (Be a little cautious of any breakable stuff inside of the things. BUT!!! you are at a concert for cryin out loud! This is the most dangerous thing to worry about??? lol) Seriously, do it if you haven't. We used to do it at MOST of the concerts we went to back in the 70's and especially the 80's. (Hundreds) OK, so I'm old. lol Al
