Intermediate ski reviews/comparison

A co-worker is looking to get back into skiing. I'm the kind of (poor) guy that just gets used stuff that I can afford and ski the crap out of it. He's looking for a new pair of somethin, but no idea what. Does anyone have any ideas where to read reviews, or comparisons or whatever. Like a consumer reports for skiis. Anyone?

Try the Ski Mag GearFinder. Reviews give + and - and seem to be pretty accurate. If you can still find their Gear Guide in print it will cover just about everything.
