So how many of you would like to ski all day without liftlines?, while raising money for a good cause?

I hope no one minds me doing this here at T4T, but we are all skiers. The website has not been updated to include the results of EyeFoot 2003, because I haven't quite managed to get around to it, and my webmaster (who is also my sister) works for free on it so...

The 2004 event may have bigger sponsorship this year and may be held at Sugarbush, but I have to work on that some more.

SkiLas, stop spamming the board!!!

Just kidding man, I think that is a great cause, and would be happy to help out. And you did mention something about free skiing at the bush, right? ;)

maybe free skiing at the Bush. details not yet completed. But free will depend on how much money you raise. :)

Give me the info well in advance, and I'll bust my butt to collect. I bet my company might even throw in some cash... We'll see. But no liftlines on the Castlerock chair sounds like heaven to me!!!!!!

What % of the money raised goes into the reading program directly? (As opposed to supporting administrative, overhead, etc.?)

What % of the money raised goes into the reading program directly? (As opposed to supporting administrative, overhead, etc.?) Good question. So far, in the three years I have done this - 100%. I have either paid the minimal overhead and admin myself or asked for specific extra funds (not tax deductible) to help me with this. Since EyeFoot.org is not an IRS 501(c)(3) registered organization I cannot accept tax deductible donations for EyeFoot. Therefor 100% of skier funds raised go directly to the National Braille Press - which is a 501(c)(3). I am probably the only charity in the USA that can make this claim.

Sugarbush is probably too far for me to go to ski for one day. But, I'll make a "vertical foot" :skicool: donation to elwood, if he follows thru with his plan, especially if he gets his work to match..... I didn't realize the Professional Coconut Crackers guild matched donations.... ;)

EEK! I promised myself I'd stop making totally frivolous ski trips.....but this sounds too tempting to resist since I've never skied at either Sugarbush or Mad River...
:skilas: When is this event, anyway? Maybe I can create a need to be in Boston on business just before - if I'm in the area anyway, it wouldn't hurt to :skifemcool: a bit before returning home. How could anyone refuse a pesonal tour by :skilas: ?

Its usually toward the end of the season in early/mid March.

And this isn't frivolous it is for a good cause!, It is arduous work, the weather is cold, it might even be snowing, you have to get up early on a weekend, be forced to mingle with strangers in a pub afterwards, spend the night in a country Inn...
:D

I'd be interested in hitting Mad River the next day too. However, I'd be making the trip back and forth from B-town. Anyone is welcome to crash at my place if they want, we can hit up the bars downtown afterwards!!!

I'll give you all a tour of sugarbush... I know a few things about that place. Not all of it, but enough for a weekend.

I've never siked Mad River either, and have only once skied the Bush, many years ago (but I do have a cool poster on my wall at work of John Egan & Doug Lewis riding a pair of cows on a farm while attired in ski gear and holding their skis, with the Bush in the background). Can I come for the tours as well? Sounds like great a weekend plan.

PLease add/keep me on your list (snowdoggie71@netzero.com).......I am always down for a frivolous ski/ride trip.....especially for a good cause....I should be able to get lots of sponsers here at work, as I am always dontating to various other charities....

SkiLas, make sure you check your e-mail. Add me. I have a special love for the 'Bush. I even proposed to my wife there (on slope---sentimental fella, ain't I??? lol). Anyone coming up near Winnipesaukee this summer or planning a Presidential hike or anything, let me know and let's try to hook up. Or again, if in the Winni area, let me know and I'll even offer to show you the area. Lot's of trees to see and stuff like that. To steal a quote for a one-time, royalty free use: Summer is way too long!. Have fun, be safe. Al :skistooge:

I have resurected this thread as the time is coming up... The date is set, March 20, however, I have not managed to confirm details with the mountain management, ie free fix and cutting in lift lines.

The site has still not been updated, my bad
Eyefoot.org (http://www.eyefoot.org)

More info on where all the proceeds go at:
National Braille Press (http://www.braille.com)

Here is the page that describes exactly what we raise money to produce
Children's Braille Books (http://www.nbp.org/ic/nbp/production/sample_jobs.html)

Those of you that expressed an interest last year should have received an email from me today. Those that are interested can contact me through my website or at info@eyefoot.org

Thank you

I'm pretty sure the eyefoot event is at Mad River Glenn. We were thinking of doing a weekend there and doing sugarbush the other day.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I am planning the event for Sugarbush, Saturday, March 20th. It has always been at MRG before, but I am trying to work things out with Bush mngmt, for a variety of reasons.

Please email me at skierinfo@eyefoot.org for pledge forms etc...
