As some may or may not know, Kate and I are retro fans. While in Lake Placid this week we found a great pillow for the TMC :teardrop: to add to our theme. Believe it our not, we found this at the Adirondack Museum store...

Boy, that pillow does talk volumes. Winters must have been warmer in those days. :)

I figure those ski outfits dyed and went to heaven. The baggy snowboarder-style outfits may be practical, but they don't cut it the same way.

A girl in those pants? I'll follow her down the mountain anyday!

Is that a bearskin rug by the fire on the pillow? Nice!

Hey its a museum piece!

Was cheaper than the 2 bears on a giant chair lift for $750 US that we saw too which I was tempted to buy for my chairlift collection.

By the way Elwood, we're going back tommorrow... shall I pick you up a few pillows?

PS. The pillows are filled with balsam so they smell nice for yah'all. :D

They're back...

These days it's called Scholler or "soft shell". Just think about how the curves show in a nice TNF Apex Randonee pant and Apex1 Jacket. Hubba hubba....

Form fitting is better....bring back lycra!

Just a reminder guys, there are a few women on this site...and for the record, my pants are not spandex, but cut to form.

My guess is that the likelihood of a woman wearing spandex is inversely proportional to her ability to rip.

Dave that's awesome!!
Alexa and I are into the retro ski thing too...

She keeps telling me she preparing a retro-Tuckerman thing for me.... I have no idea what it is... But I'm psyched!!!

We have a cool retro Coca-Cola print I got when I had a contract with them... As well as some old retro ski maps...

I hope to own a mountain house someday and make it completely retro...
I love that stuff...

You said it, Skichick! And that "sweater" she is wearing looks like little more than paint on skin! Calling it "see through" does not do it justice. How come our guys don't ski in revealing outfits? Although in the July 11 photos we did have some nice shirtlessness going on, so I shouldn't complain. ;)

The pillow would make a good gift for a friend's dad (whose condo we use when we go to Utah) but I don't think his mom would appreciate having it in the house.

Here is something else we picked up which might be more appealing to some. Not so retro, but practical for those who aren't into spandex, but like candies...

Currently my wife has his tummy filled with Hot Tamales.

Thought he might make a neat ice bowl too although he isn't so well insulated for this task...

Gotta put him at Tucks....

I have my Apex1 jacket already, time to go to the gym...

Rando pants next season...whistles will be fine*, but Mrs RR has first ops on that.

* :doh: way too optimistic...

No, no, no....you must be thinking about the OTHER trip I took to Tucks this month on July 6th. THAT was the one with the topless skiing. (I know, things can get SO confusing when trying to keep all the July Tux visits in order!) :p
Although, the birthday trip five days later (7/11) ALMOST had me taking a 'run' in my birthday suit, but I didn't want to infringe on Naked Guy's gig...!!!
More importantly, since every run ended up in/on the rocks, I wasn't in a hurry to try that wearing only a smile!!! I'd be WAY too afraid of leaving parts of me (and impotent ones, oops, I meant IMPORTANT ones behind!!!) :D

Guys are different...the more spandex we wear the better we rip.

Now indulge me as the scene of proof is set....

"Our Lady Fair has left the cozy comfort of her Adironondack hideaway (and it's bear-skin rug) in search of spring skiing in rugged New Hampshire.

But she is a beauty beyond compare (with painted on garments to boot); where is the young stallion who is a match for her charms, suitable to be her companion in adventure?

Where is that gallant, that, well....stud muffin!

LOOK....LOOK...THERE....HE.....IS!!!!!

TUCKER MAN!
http://timefortuckerman.com/photopost/data/500/1606Tucker_Man-med.JPG

The pants were painted on! The boxer shorts were a thong! The skin was perma-tanned! Our Fair Lady swooned in relief.

Thank you Tucker Man!"

Yah, Tucker Man probably has abs like a Williams sister too. I've wondered who that "Spring Skiing" tourism ad was intended to appeal to: "Fair Ladies" or "Village People"???

Gee Whiz, it's no picnic being a dirty poet in a PG discussion group; when in doubt I should have the kids proof-read all posts to winnow out improprieties before they hit the web. What would Spiderman say? "Ah shucks Mary Jane!"

You know, I'm on the Gov't Mule's listserve (EMule), but that's pretty PG rated, much like this place (NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!), which is why there was an R/X-rated spinoff list, Mulep*ss, for those non-PG poets among us. Perhaps we need a subset here as well? I'd hate to cause any type of breakup in our happy home, but guys gotta have someplace to be GUYS, y'know? How about Tuckerman Sty.com? (oink, oink!! ;) ) You know, someplace where we can compare our poor breeding!
