Oi, I'ma doing the OT thing here at work this week....plus I no longer can physically make it out of bed after consuming beverage on school nights, and I live a tad North of dahntahn, so I'm out this week...Friday night is possible, but you said thru Friday.

If you like tasty beers w/o a doubt about it goto Monk's Cafe on 16th & Spruce. Their "Beer Bible" has the best selection of beer on the planet, no joke. And if you like Belgian beer, you'll be in heaven! The pomme frites w/ their dippin sauce and any style of mussels are a must. Enjoy.

That's freaking weird. I was watching red sox last night, and a commerical for southwest adverting $29 one way tickets to Philly... so I checked and the red sox are playing Philly next week! But they are playing in boston.

SO I won't be in philly next week.

I was in Philly for NYE i went to some bar that flanked the historic district and close to the water. Teh bartender was from Whales ( i think)...anyway the place had a stck of beers to chose from (all imports). ever been? don't think it's called monks though.???

monks is more center city. the area you were in is probably "olde city" which is basically front (1st) st. to like 7th along the water/95. if you were on south street (famous hang) there is a large irish type joint on front st., but i forget the name and never been. you might have been in a small place?? eulogy on 2nd and chestnut.

Dude, I ate a Bridigs last night before the PRIMUS show!!! Great joint...very, very inexpensive. Anything on tap is 5 beans. They have Kestral Triple (virgin experience) on tap right now along with the standard Hogarden, Chimey, Yeungling...Entries dont go over like $15. Next time in town check out Jacks Firehouse just down the street across from ESP. Jack is/was Bobby Flays partner on Grillin' and Chillin'.

And if you like Bridig's you'll freaking love Monks. My pals and I try to go every other month or so by train, cause you don't walk quite so good outta there if you've been awhile. Ohhh, and do they have primo Tequila...the sippin' kind

Did you go upstairs to the Coffin Room? What a trip...Euology is relativley new and if you thought they had a ton-o-beers, goto Monk's. It's seriously may have the best selection of beers in the world. Period.

Oh, and a bit of advise. Monks, like most bars in EC cities is small like Eulogy and narrah and gets paked like the tram at JP on a Saturdee. Make either an afternoon of it, or go past midnight when the crowd thins out. Oh, and take a cab or train, cuase I've never left sober!

And yeah, I don't know what up with it but unlike everywheres else it's not hard at all to find belgian beers in or around Philly. I aint complainin'!!!!!! :p

So I'm in Philly... first time on a dial-up in years (not too bad, thanks for a streamlined site Dave). Buddakan for dinner last night, the Palm tonight -- can't complain about the food.

Not much skiing going on here... when I was a student here, I took a picture of Geo. Washington holding my xc skis on a snow day when I skiied from West Philly to NJ via Independence Hall. Nowadays that whole area (1 block from my hotel) is blockaded off and heavily guarded, so that pic will be a rare piece of Philly ski memorabilia.

EEK, el-, Phili's my stomping ground. But my goal is usually to get out of Phili. Unfortunately, I'm :atwork: for the next few days. I wish I knew there was a potential T4T congregation here.....how'd I miss it???????? Just reinforces my point...WORK CAN BE SO DESTRUCTIVE TO ONES TRUE PRODUCTIVITY.

Anyway, do you have your ski boots, el??? You can try my grass skis.

Nope, no ski boots... but I am commuting from Old City to the City Hall area via rollerblades. Fastest way to get around (except during that storm yesterday evening!)

I will be back in Philly in mid-July, and would always be glad to have a meet-up.

Excellent. Skidude may be in between camps then too. Hopefully, we will have the quirks worked out of the grass skis by then so you can take them for a run or two.
Any other T4Ters around in July???????
