So i took a trip up north and tried 'your route'. i went straight at the lights in Paris (rite aid on the right). I went through west paris and then i thing i took a right(?) and i ended back on 26 well before Greenwood 214,219 maybe? what are the route numbers you follow?

Straight at the light is High Street, I think. After High Street comes down off a steep hill and bears right, it T-intersects another (River) Road. Turn left on River and go north along the Little Androscoggin, passing Snow Falls Road on your right. (Drive down there to reach the other side of the falls across from 26.) Eventually, when you hit 219 at W Paris (what a cute town, eh?), turn L and go W on 219 to Greenwood, coming out after some nice turny driving at a lake. Turn R at the lake, passing several more lakes, one of which has an awesome cliff on the other side (said to be great climbing). Ultimately come out about 0.1 miles down the Mt Abram access road from Rte 26, right near Mahoosuc Mtn Sports.

Took that way out Friday night. Sunday we came home the Luddite way, which involves staying straight past the end of 219 and ending up in Norway. I was sure nothing would be more scenic/remote than my way, but Luddite's way is actually just as nice. Probably about a wash in terms of speed.

Ya, Amazing! all these years i've never been through it and it's right there. It's neat, quite the 'little moutain village'.

I think this is where i went wrong. I took a west and zipped back to 26.

Ya! some ice climing around there in in the winter as well, although that's not for me.
