I really thought this place would be hoppin' seeing how the weather forcast looks good, kind of. Anyway, I have checked a few different weather sites and I am mostly worried about the temperature. The intellicast site says that it should stay above freezing, where the weather channel one says that it will be below freezing at times. Knowing that it is going to be close I fear that the snow will deflect bullets. Does anyone else share these same sentiments? Nothing really scares me more than jumping into a bullet-proof chute only to find out that I have to either figure a way to put the crampons on, or attempt to climb out with just my boots. I understand that you should always climb up what you plan to ski down, but in the great gulf that isn't going to happen. I am probably going to get lectured because of this post, but I am that much closer to "headwall master", at the expense of sounding/being naive. Any thoughts comments???

I'd just recommend going and have one or more alternate plans as well as bring gear for all situations. Arrive at Pinkham, check the weather with them and decide which plan, and final gear list.

Intellicast shows 60F... how can the weather channel show it be below freezing? Thats quite a difference. Then again with the reputation of weather on Mount Washington, the forecast probably changes every 5 minutes anyways.

I say... GO... go despite any weather forecast. Soak up the sun, wind, rain, ice pellets or whatever Tucks has to offer.

What time are you planning on skiing it??

If the wether is what it says its going to be then by noon it will be corn snow but at 6 in the morning probably not, once that sun hits the bowl it doesnt take long to loosen right up.

And look for my pretty grey rusty 89 4-door Chevy Celebrity tonight at Pinkham. Let me sleep though if it's late,OK? As of right now I've been up for like 30 hours. I'm gonna get a couple before I drive up tonight. (It's only a little over an hour up for me) Have fun, be safe. Al
