09:30 looked out my window and saw nothing, granted, my eyes were only barely open, but upon closer examination there was not, in fact, a sheet draped over the outside of my window.

10:02 Coffee in hand I stepped upstairs to the instruments and panoramic view. 53.6degrees WSW21.9mph visibility 80ft, but bright, very bright, so I don't think there is much cloud cover above us. My plan to ski a small patch just off the TR trail on the summit cone may be thwarted as I don't think I'll hike down in this soup to ski a not too steep, but VERY no-fall patch of snow. The difference being this patch has big boulders in the middle, the patch that was being skied yesterday does not.

I will ask the OOD what the forcast is for the weekend. last night I asked the night OOD and he wasn't specific, but Saturday evening we might start seeing some severe weather into Sunday. Hoping it holds off til KM, Kfarrar, M@ @nna and I finish skiing for the day. Auto road opens at 0800.

Off for a summit walk around...

I apologize in advance for me not being current with all members and what they do and why they do it, and other munituia.

But,
I noticed you are on the Summit of Mt.W and boarding there (sleeping) How did you get the chance to stay up there, what a unique expierence. I envy you, do you work up there? Whats your story?

All I know is that I wish I was there.

Thanks

The fog has lifted and visibility is great, at least as far as I want... 57.0 degrees, WSW19mph.

The lifting fog revealed three vehicles parked at the GG lot, all with roof racks. I could see no evidence of skiers or hikers. With the binoculars only one vehicle, a Volvo SW, had a ski rack. A lengthy search revealed no skiers of hikers anywhere visible in GG. I am hoping that they are not tracking up my chute, which is not visible from the summit. I did see what "could be" traverse tracks and boot holes at the bottom of a patch to lookers right of Airplane, I will examine that more closely later with more powerful binocs.

NtrentT: I am volunteering for the Summit Observatory crew for a week, Wed-Wed. Duties are primarily preparing supper each day for the crew, currently 3, but in the summer it can be as many as 8, plus visitors that may require three meals, and just generally keeping the living area tidy. For this I get a bed at the summit.

58.3 degrees, W22.4mph, hazy sun

I stepped out to the deck to see people back at the Volvo. I ran downstairs and checked with the binocs and they did indeed have skis and were packing up for the day. I noticed that the sedan also had a skirack and swung around to look at the top of Airplane just in time to see a boarder start his run. Several nice turns and he went out of view. There were many tracks at the top, I suspect the Volvo crew were hiking back up when I looked for them earlier.

I would be out skiing myself, but for the phone calls I have to make re: my car... :-(

Beautiful evening up here: 55.4 degrees, light WSW breeze around 12mph, sun still shining and I'm looking forward to a fine sunset.
