Hi all. Back from a wet weekend at Tuck's. Rained for three days in the valley but luckily it was mostly snowing up on the mountains. There has been a lot of late snow this year. Snow on the Tuckerman Ravine trail right from Pinkham. Crampons sure made it an easier trek than slipping on the snow, especially hiking down from the bowl at days end. The trees were drenched in heavy wet snow. No skiing from the Bowl down to HoJo's. About 70 skiers in the bowl on Saturday mid day. The clouds were low so it was hard to see even the lip of the bowl from the base of the ravine. Most skied the left side of the ravine with a few skiers risking the right side. Few went up more than half way up the headwall. Avalanche forecast was 'considerable', visibility was poor. A pair of skiers on the lower snowfields set off a small slide mid day. Hillman's was busy all day, lots of snow top to bottom. Sherburne was doable to mid to 3/4 of the way (not recommended unless you bring your rock skis/board). Saw someone actually ski all the way to Pinkham.
