So I guess I'm really jonesing to get back on skis. I have ski dreams all summer long (who doesn't) but last night's dream takes the cake.

I dreamed on was skiing on Fredericton's Summer Glacier. If you've every been to Fredericton you'd see the humor in this. Knowing that I was dreaming I was actually arguing the fact that Fredericton does not have a glacier but my dream had it all figured out. Apparently there is some sort of volcanic activity and the smoke that was rising from it was actually ice cold and had turned all of this rain we've been getting to ice and snow. *** that doesn't even make since. At this point I woke up to go to bathroom. I thought to myself this is the strangest ski dream I've ever had. Normally I dream of waist deep pow, nose bleed steeps, mach looney speeds on wide open trails, thrashing through tight trees or really airing it out in the park. But this was just bizarre. I finished my business and went back to bed. Within minutes I was boarding the chairlift up the glacier. I spent the day exploring the craziest chutes on frozen corn (what kind dream is this at least I could get real corn, oh well I can't complain it is skiing in New Brunswick in August!) Kind of what you get in Left Gully early in the morning before the sun really starts to warm it up in early June after a subzero night. After a bunch of runs I decided to stop for lunch I went into this small fishing shack type canteen (all the buildings were like little fishing shanty's). The sign inside said help yourself and all there was was homemade hash browns. Apparently at this place food came with your lift ticket however there wasn't much choice to eat, but who cares, I'm still feeling pretty stoked about finding a glacier just outside the city that I live in. It was fun skiing all day with my buddies in the middle of summer even if the snow wasn't that great. (it never did soften up). This dream lasted the entire night and finally I decided it was time to go as the lifts were closed and they were starting the groom and that groomer was getting close....oh wait that's the alarm clock. I hit snooze and the lifty for one more run, no problem. I skied this scary chute kind of like when I hiked up Chute Variation Victoria Day weekend except this time I straight ran it because I knew the groomer would be coming again. It did. I hit snooze again and loaded my gear in the back of my Jeep and headed home thinking about what a great day this was. I got home and crashed. (I didn't know you could sleep in your dreams) This time I could hear the groomer off in the distance and then I could hear my wife trying to wake me up in my dream...I mean in real life. I got up and stood in the shower just letting the water run thinking back to what an odd dream. It didn't matter if I woke up it kept coming back. I think after work I'm going to hop on my Mountain Bike and go find this glacier.

Reality sucks.

Damn I need winter.

Last night was chilly it had that fall smell in the air. I left the windows open and turned on the fan. Maybe that's why I had such a strange dream. The Jeep was covered in dew. I can't wait to start scraping my windows in the morning!

There must be something in the air. Last night I dreamed a group of friends and I hiked up Killington looking for snow. It was just starting to snow as we got there in the evening, and we hoped there would be enough to ski on in the AM. It was still pertty bare in the morning, but we WERE going to ski on everything, be it white or brown. Then I woke up to forecasts of upper 80s. :unhappyhiker:

the last two nights in Toronto were rather fall like, especially Sunday nite. But the forcast for the next few is hot and humid. The longrange into next week says things like a daytime high of 15 degrees celcius on monday. Like 45 farenheit. It is just a matter of time now.

Definate signs fall is here... therefore snow soon!

We were surprised to wake up to early morning fog at Fish Creek Pond in the Adirondacks, Sunday night...
