I'll be up Thursday morning... Probably hitting Hillmans area that day...
Staying in the shelters until Saturday maybe Sunday.... Depends on the weather.
Friday we hit the bowl in advance of the crowds...
Saturday we try and get to the summit or just the snowfields.. Maybe Oaks.
Sunday's a wild card day..

I will have  and tequilla.... And maybe a stinky cigar... because I'm from Jersey.. :)

Thinking about making a fruity vodka concoction but it will require actually bringing fruit....

I am 100% sure I'm going, possible with a few friends as well. This will be my first trip up so I intend on dragging a long lens and taking lots of pictures instead of riding.

Got you up to 100%. I don't believe in 110%. I did bump you to the top of the list though. I think I had the 90% from the "I'm there" comment you made.

Looks like a great weekend weathersie. Make sure to get pictures of all the T4T people, and the rumored "crevase" under the lip.

I just picked up sun screen and new sun glasses, so it has to rain. Maybe your rain gear and my sun glasses will cause sun showers.

My group backed out last weekend due to the hint of bad weather on Saturday :badwords: I won't be able to live with myself this summer if I don't make it up at least once this spring. I have managed to convince one person to come with me and with that I am 100%

Hey Ispoiler... the long lens will be great for those closeups, but if you really wanna capture the steepness in your pix, use a 28mm lens. My first time up I burned through four rolls with a bigger lens...even perched just over the lip and shooting nearly straight up, the pix looked like I was shooting in a farmer's field! The 28mm lens restores that perspective which is lost when you go from 3D (with your eye) to 2D (on your photo or screen, in the case of digital). Try it, you'll see what I mean. Have a great first time! HB

After weighing in my pack I think I just might bring my digtal camera up on my first trip. Even if I brought up my smaller F2.8 70-200 and a 24mm I will still be lugging around an extra 8lbs. The space I save by not bringing my slr will be used by a  or two.

See everyone up there!!!

I'm flying up in my tiny plane and the weather in Ny, Ma, and Ct won't let me get there today (I only have a VFR ticket). I'll be up tomorrow in the late afternoon. Looks like Sunday is going to be the better day. Should be a blue bird day and a lot warmer then tomorrow. I'll be monitoring the radio and leave some Sherburne left for me! In the meantime

Hey CP: Good to hear we've got another pilot. I'm a VFR no cloud flier myself. Any chance you can do some circles around the ravine and get some ariel photgraphy? If you've got you're radio - I bet it works from the air above the ravine- give a hollar and maybe all the T4T'ers will know to wave like crazy or huck some major air for an excellent photo.

You flying alone? Probably not a great idea to do photo's alone - although I've done it.

I haven't been up in about 3 yrs. Suzy has a phobia of her kids father flaying.

I'll be on the east side of the mountain @4:00PM landing at KHIE. It's only a couple of minutes to the ravine. Will anybody still be there at 4? I was planning on giving it a shot anyway with the nice forecast weather in the afternoon. I have a passenger and we have two 4mp digital cameras!

This didn't work out as planned. It was far to windy to even think about getting on the leeward side of Mt Washington yesterday (Saturday) due to dangerous down drafts. There must have been a lot of looking and no skiing due to the firm conditions, weather, and winds.

Woke up to a calm, cold, clear morning today with increasing haze and the forcast showed the storm advancing up the east coast 12 hours ahead of schedule. If we didn't get back by noon we were going to hit serious weather in the air. The conditions looked firm again today so we decided to head back to beat the weather or get stuck in Gorham for the next 3 days. We took a spin by the ravine on the way out and I snapped some photos which I posted in the members area.

We hit heavy weather on the NY/NJ border as it turned out but we made it back ok in Quakertown, PA.

It looks like winter has returned to Mt. Washington for a few days.
