I am definately going to be there on Friday. One day of rain can't wash away 47 inches of snow. With any luck it'll be freezing rain or even snow.

Its starting to look alot like winter ...
Everwhere we go...

Alright, I won't bore you with the rest of the song - I am sure you all know it!

I am so *#@&%&* excited today. Can you tell?

Why does it look like there is a groomer track going up the tucks trail?

Because they regularly bring supplies up to HoJo's via snowcats (just as they do for the summit in the winter).

The first time that I did Tucks I was an impressionable 13 and had to quickly jump off the trail to avoid becoming cat fodder.

They drive a snow cat up that trail I believe - the care takers really have the life. Living at the base of the most famous ski run in the east - and a heated ride to their front door.

Of course - I think they have low-speed internet, so it'd never work for me.

Ohh I thought people would have to hike up with all the stuff, and that was the reason for the 2 sided buildings :hojos: But I guess a :snowcat: makes more sence.

Lazy people

Does the Shurberne trail get groomed/snow-catted too??? If so, how long after the storm does the powder stay untracked before the cat goes up?

It is r :badwords: ning HARD right now; I'm not sure how much snow is going to be left, or how good it will be if this rain freezes up overnight, which it probably will... :(

I'm not sure, but I doubt the skiing will be that great this weekend.

Fourtanetly, it's starting to look like more snow on the way next week; possibly 3 storms! Hopefully we'll get some good skiing in then!

Need more :snowflakes: :snowflakes: :snowflakes:
There are only a few tiny spots with snow...where it was plowed up and everything.
Maybe I should go roll around in one :)

I've been watching the temp all day long up top. It never went above freezing. So, my guess is that all day the worst they got was freezing rain in the bowl. Hopefully that will turn to plan snow by the end of the storm. either way, I still plan to be up there Sat. morning.

Once it get cold on friday, it is most likely going to freeze over and stay that way until it warms up or it gets some solar heating. But I'm not expecting much anyway. Just another day outside to play.

I'm glad to hear you are still going to make it. Most people who are looking at the reports have been detered. I too just want to go play in the woods. I'll slide on anything Saturday. Ice just means you go faster.

What if....

It turns to snow tonight in the bowl and it gets another 12"!!! And on top of that, the 100 mph winds expected tonight loads the bowl even more!

...Just dreaming

I like that dream.

"Ice only makes you go faster," I like that very much. It's very much in line with my new biline.
