I am off to Boulder on Sep. 4th for a long WE suprise birthfday bash......maybe I should pack some gear and head out I-70, and take a Hike up St. Mary's glacier for a few turns????????

Why thank you ..unfortunately i am no longer an east coaster, but i put in a good number of years out there. Originally from clifton park, ny. Went to school at SUNY Albany for meteorology, spent a few summers on mt washington working for the Obs, hiking and skiing as much as possible. Now im out in salt lake city, working towards my masters in mtn meteorology. I ski, and recently started telemarking. And no ...I havent gotten in any skiing since ive been out here :unhappyhiker: there wasnt a whole lot left ...just a few patches above 10,000ft or so. But I'll try to do better next summer when im more "in the know" and in better shape. When i came out here, i definitely wasnt ready to hike up 6,000ft vert. But i've recently learned that there's a glacier out in nevada that's quite accessible, a trip out there may be in the works :skicool:
