It has been two weeks so I am off to visit the wife in VT once again.

Arrive late Thursday night 15 January 2004
Leaving for Toronto Tuesday morning. 20 January 2004

Definately up to hitting somewhere with some of you sometime. Anywhere but Stowe...I would like to be able to put my kids through college one day.

:sugarbush: :jaypeak: Smuggs????

Will also be going to Bolton Valley to use the full day couchers we have.

Let me know who will be around.

Yo Bannick-

Take 2

I am planning on riding at least 2 days this weekend (3 day weekend) probably Sun and Monday.

Was thinking tha Bush cuz they have a deal if you bring in a :liftticket: (from any mountain) dated from Dec 2003, you can get a :sugarbush: :liftticket: for $42. Also hoping to hook up with Elwood at Smuggs possibly.....

elwood

I'll be hitting Smuggs this weekend for sure. Email me before-hand with your contact info, if you guys want to meet up.
(P-dawg, I already have your cell number...I'll call you sometime later this week.)

Yeah yeah - lets have a T4T 'invasion' of Smuggs!!!!

Only catch is I have a 4 hour haul to Smuggs (dry roads) so an 8 am assault is pretty rough for me...(hint hint) especailly on a non-pow day....

Cool getting stoked.

elwood
01-12-2004, 03:59 PM
8am assaults are non existant for me, unless it's a powpow day. So don't worry about that, I'll even have an extra couple of drinks the night before! I'm getting psyched too.. Do you guys have FRS radios?

Bannick

elwood:
I'm getting psyched too.. Do you guys have FRS radios? No radio...santa sucks.
But Smuggs could be keen. Elwood if you can give a good parking/meeting location it should be a snap.

I will email my cell no.

So this sugar bush deal it is a ticket from any mountain from december? Sounds pretty sweet. I could be in for that too.

Any smuggs deals that a guy like me can get? I heard they once took canadian cash at par....any hope?

pepperdawg
01-12-2004, 05:45 PM
From Sbush website..(You can find link on front page):

<<Is that Rolodex of lift tickets swinging from your jacket affecting your posture? Looking for a way to turn December tickets into January savings?

In an effort to promote New Year’s harmony in the world of winter sports, Sugarbush Resort is offering one-day adult lift tickets for only $42 to skiers and riders for the month of January. Visitors need only present a December 2003 lift ticket from Sugarbush or any other resort in the world and they will receive a single non-holiday ticket for $42. The January promotion is on a ticket-for-ticket basis and runs Sundays through Fridays. >>

No radio either....but will be looking forward to touching base with you guys a bit later in the week.

I am down for Sunday and/or Monday snow adventures....Saturday is looking tough for me to get north.

Woo hoo... :D

Bannick
01-12-2004, 05:56 PM
Ya me too. The wife will proly come along on sunday monday. She works saturday.

Does the ticket deal apply this weekend? Is it not a holiday in the states on monday?
edit: just checked...no ticket dealie this weekend.

Dawg you have my cell right?

High probability that I will be at the Bush on Friday, thanks to Warren Miller. I have a few extra of these certificates that are valid weekdays through the 24th I think, all you need is the code and internet access.

I have a radio and will be monitoring 9:14 if I am there.

I'll be at MRG Saturday, free tix, but would hook up for beers apreski.

At Smuggs, the meeting place is always at Parking Lot #1 (all the way up), or at the Black Bear Tavern. If you can get radios, I'll be on channel 4-20. Otherwise, we'll just have to get a good plan. Probably Black Bear Tavern is the best meeting spot...Right in the Madonna base lodge (between M1 and Sterling lifts).

I have a coupon for buy 1 get one free tickets that I can set you guys up with. Oh yeah, and Sunday is the day if you guys can't make Saturday... I have to work on Monday. :(

I doubt I will have cell service there but I will have a radio tuned to 9:14. if you think you'll make it we can also plan on a time and place. Apresbeers are always at the Hyde Away or The Barn if not the lodge

Not this weekend, but someday, I'd like to meet some of you guys to make some turns...Maybe Presidents Weekend (Yo DMC, it might be Hunter) or Spring Break (4/17) at Tucks.

This weekend I am happy to report that I'll be in CO. The plan is a twilight ski at Keystone Thursday; The back bowls of Vail Friday (got a free ticket...think I'll have a hamburger for lunch),and Beaver Creek Saturday and Sunday.

Happy Trails... :snowboarding:

Maybe President's weekend in Feb. or Tucks for spring break.

M@ They could have bday parties on weeknights, if they reduced the hours in the school day so the kidlings could party, but still stay away for puppet making class... but that would mean more years to complete school... more years before they can buy their own equipment and become ski bums... oh the vicious circle.

No worry, evently the kids grow up and you have all the time you want to ski.... IF your knees are still holding out.

I have a feeling that friday is gonna be tough for me. I looks like the meeting may go late which means a late arrival in VT tomorrow nite. Let me know where you will be at the bush and I will look for you. Only been once mostly on the Super Bravo.

Me, grey and orange jacket, chrome dome, grey pants and a green board. I am not easily missed...not your average looking boarder type.

Elwood and DAwg....sunday at smuggs works great. lets pick a time and place. Check your personal messages for my contact numbers.

Sounds good - lets shoot for 10:00 Black Bear Tavern as Elwood suggested above???

P-Dawg - Yellow and white jacket, tan pants.

Looks like snow showers/light :snowflakes: all weekend :)

I plan on leaving CT at 5:30 am to build in some buffer time in case I hit slow roads etc...

Getting stoked!!!!

We took our time...There was 5 of us and only had one untensil. So we took our time and made sure everyone felt rested enough... :D I was surprised at how much snow was actually still out there... It was a little bit dust on crust in the middle, but for the most part pretty soft! Did you hit the rock at the bottom? The landing was surprisingly nice!

Hey 2-planker - Yeah a silver pathfinder - You were in a Saab 900 (I think that was who was behind me for a while in that area)??

Elwood - Ended up hooking up with Bannick and his lady (Jessie?). We waited till 10:30...next time definitly. Rode Maddona in the morning and Sterling in the afternoon. We hit a couple inbound glades (unsure of names without a map in front of me)....but definitly could have used a loc guide - hint hint :D

Get ready to hear it from Bannick on the no-show :D (kidding).

What a great mountain though - tasty terrain everywhere I looked..and I can only imagine on a big pow day.....You could spend years exploring...my kind of hill!!!!!!

all in all a great day....kinda wishing I had stayed up last night to ride today again....

2plankerider

i ride a 99 dodge caravan. work vehicle. wish it were a snob 900.

for someone who has numbered days on the hill (my daughter came into this world on 12-5-03) i was willing to take whatever smugg's would give me yesterday, and i must say she did more than her part. i shot SEVERAL first tracks through the trees yesterday as well as lung choking face shots here and there ...couldn't be happier. even found a new chute off of the left of FIS with a 30 footer, never knew it was there. no big air here, i'm getting old and i have a kid :D

NEXT time on a real pow pow day, we'll have to muster up a T4T day, because when it dumps at smugg's,(and you know where to go) there is really no better place to be. don't be late though, cuz as there are no friends on a powder day, same goes true for T4T'rs.

Hey P-dawg... Yeah I was late because I had to demo a pair of skis... I got there about 10:30, so I must have just missed you. I was looking at snowboards all day for that Steal your Face... I wish we had the chance to meet up, I'm sorry I was late! I did send people to look out, but they had no idea who they were looking for. Glad you had fun at Smuggs... Actually - That the address of some car dealer or something on Larenzeau Blvd in canada somewhere. When I was growing up in BTV I would hear this add on the radio a LOT. Something like, "Come on down to (something something car dealer) at TEN-TEN LaRenzau Blvd! That's TEN-TEN Larqnazau Blvd" and it stuck in my head big time. SO when I went skiing with other folks who grew up there, they knew that add too and would remember TEN TEN!

Hey elwood....

Sorry to have missed you. Did have fun with PD. Would really have benifited from a local guide but as PD said we did find some fun stuff in the trees as well as some sort of frozen river of ice off the Madonna lift. Yikes! I have a group shot of our posse of three on the disposable cam. Will post soon. I am getting radios soon too, I need to catch up with the technology. Maybe I will even sell this comodore pet and get a 64 or something from Texas Instruments :D

We made it back from VT late last night. The wife is back in Toronto...VT is but a memory for us now. The work at the spa dried up and it hardly made the rent worth it so we are back here waiting for the Whislter/Baker honeymoon in Feb.
