Have spending a good 16 hours fighting with PhotoPost, JUST to get the dang thing to upload properly, it finally works... I think. At least for smaller photos (ie under 100K) which would be a typical JPEG which has been saved with some compression for viewing on the web. However anything over about 100K fails with a 'The page cannot be displayed' error (IE), basically timing out.
It's possible (hey this is the Internet right?) that its something at my end (although I up and download 500MB files all the time).
So I need a few members who have larger images to try to upload a few of their photos, and let me know if they have any difficulty.
I also need to know if the slide show option works for anybody. Sure doesn't here.
Just dropped a 900k file in with no worries.
Excellent interface! Very integrated. I would comment that there is no obvious link back to the forums home.
The title graphic with the mug shots and stuff on top of the page, that no longer links to the forum home either, I used to use that. But I digress.

Hey M@, thanks.
Yes I plan on a few things to improve the interface which will include removing the top montage etc from the photo gallery, fixing up many color issues, and cleaning up the nav bar area.
PhotoPost doesn't seem to handle nicely the ability for members to upload their photos specifying more than one category: ie Member Galleries + Tuckerman Ravine which would be nice. Then each of us would have our own albums, but all our Tuckerman Ravine specific photos would show up on a 'Tuckerman Ravine' category. So for now we need to ensure we had the following keywords to our photos as follows. If more than one phrase applies, then any that apply should be added into the photo keyword field.
For the correct usage of keywords for photos specific to Tuckerman Ravine please visit THIS LINK (http://timefortuckerman.com/forums/announcement.php?f=6)
These keywords are then used for access to those specific photo topics which are listed under the 'Member Photo Galleries' on the main T4T Board Forum.
Please suggest any others M@ or anyone else if you believe they are missing. Other ideas/comments appreciated as aways.
You'll also note that at the bottom of your photos, the UBB code shows so that you can easily copy this code so that you can use it to insert your photo in a trip report for example.
I'm disappointed that members can upload photos by topic, so for example you would have sub albums for each trip to Tuxs or whatever... I must be missing something.
Dave:
The "Move this Picture to" album list doesn't show my newly created album... so I uploaded some images to my directory - and can't move them down into the new folder/album I created.
I can upload new pix to my new album, but can't move the already uploaded ones.

It works for me, but is annoying. It reloads my entire browser window which means I have to scroll down to see each photo quickly before the next reload.

No worry skilas.... I have to do a bit of hacking so that the entire header, montage and all doesn't show. This will be fixed shortly and joy will fill the world once again :disinfo:

heh heh, ahh.... {shuffles feet, glances skyward} How about them Red Sox, eh? Yup, they're great ball club, uh huh, yup
I had some frustrations uploading pix today. If I did more than 4 it would time out on me. They were pretty big though, that could have been part of the problem.
Is the .ZIP stuff fixed?
I forgot the password/username to use for the ftp method as well.

I wanted to upload a few pix today but I don't see (or can't find) the Album Admin button. Am I doing something wrong?

Click "Gallery" in the title bar up top right now - and then a new title bar appears below it which should have the "Album Admin" link.

I did that but I only see the 'Search Photos' link in the middle of that menu bar. Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue.
Moose:
Dave must have to set you up for something on photo post. Wish I could help. Can't wait to see your pix.

hook and look and velcro the same thing?
