I believe that's what they're referring to when they say, "Long sliding falls are a possibility." Holy smokes is he lucky.

Most injuries on Mt Wash come from this type of thing .....and avalanches are a far second. Falling on the steeps is generally NOT good.:wipeout: Sometimes a runout is okay..sometimes not. Eggbeater fall alone can twist, break and hurt you.

Still ...nice footage!

Danger list(side note):

Sliding Falls
Avalanche
Ice fall
Crevasse
Rock fall(or a moron's trundle)
'Misdirected' into object
Hypothermia

(side note #2) Be fun to post 'Mt W. Lost Film o' the Week'-from footage not posted here on T4T but found elsewhere(recent or maybe older).

Best to practice ski self-arrests first!

The guy didn't seem to even try.

I think it's actually quite good the way it is. The skier's comments (which are barely audible) at the end pretty much sum it up.

Note the folks standing by the lunch rocks thinking they are safe as the skier above triggers a substantial avalanche at them....

....but you get the idea... and good effort, Footlong. Not many captures of avalanches on Mt Wash.... and rare type of film for sure.

But say....How about some more film fun?

Okay! Check out newer GoPro ad :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-oyjdZD-lY&feature=pyv&ad=6716771324&kw=skiing&gclid=CKTyrfGqg6gCFQbc4AodCXOaqA(not a 'Mt. W lost film...' but cool!)

Here's a 'Mt Washington Lost ski film O' the Week'. Enjoy!:

Classic...defintiely NOT one to show to your significant other the night before you head up there without them... :)

I wonder how many people go over that Headwall thinking it's going to be fresh "pow" down below? ....only to fund trenches and bumps which are almost never recoverable unless you got some really good "shocks"...

My thoughts also. I was hoping for him to dig in his ski pole. Of course, easier said than done when I'm sitting on my couch. Lucky lucky guy!
