M@ you mentioned about PHP...

Right now I using the UBB classic forum code with straight perl, but have mod_perl on the new server which will help. UBB class is well suited to the requirements of T4T, but isn't as efficient as UBB Threads for example which is PHP based and uses mysql. There is also other forum software which I may consider... haven't investigate all the options yet.

We are just setting up PHP on the new server this week.

Any input from other techie members on other forum software, likes, dislikes etc are welcome/appreciated.

So I tried out the T4T message board on our new server tonight, and no go with mod_perl. Drats. So it will run as is, for the time being. I'm considering now moving to vBulletin 2.3.4 (http://www.vbulletin.com) Bulletin 2.3.4 which is PHP/MySQL based. Most hacks I have done can probably be done in vBulletin, and apparently I can transfer all existing user info and posting which is important... more on this as I continue to research. Comments suggestions more than welcome.
