Here we go again....I have the time tomorrow (Sat 4/26), no commitments for once, and I have a freaking bad wheel bearing on my rusty old Celebrity! BUT!!! If anyone would like the company of a 44 year old ski freak, I could use a ride to and from. I bathe daily and even use deodorant! lol. Overall I consider myself an awfully nice person (for someone that is trying to mooch a ride, at least!). So again, if there is anyone with room for me, my pack, my 195's and my sense of humor, let me know. Either reply here or even better, to: larryfine635@aol.com If not, then, come Hell or high water, I WILL be up there NEXT weekend. Have fun, be safe. Al

It looks like I'm headed up Saturday night from beantown, looking for cheap motel, coming back Sunday evening, if that could work for you I am sure we could fit you in.
I am assuming that is the West Alton New Hampshire, near Laconia, not West Alton, Kansas :)
PS, this is not definite ...

I WISH I could go up Sat night for Sunday...looks like the better day. Unfortunately, as for this weekend, it's tomorrow or wait another week. (family stuff to do on Sun). I'm in the process of trying to talk my wife out of her car tomorrow but I'm afraid her shopping is about to prevail. She loves to ski also, but purely as an on-piste operative. I work nights so I may get out of work next Fri AM and head up for Fri night and Sat. Thanks for the offer though. Hope to see you up there in the future. (The West Alton is the one you are thinking of. Rt 11 East from Laconia, between the Owl's Nest Store and the William Tell Inn for future reference) Again, Thanks. Al

And I bet that West Alton, Kansas doesn't have Lake Winnipesaukee, either. lol

Heck, they probably don't even have SNOW!
No problem about the ride, it looks like we might not be going... no decision has been made yet, damn the wishy-washy!

From watching the weather out my door and across the lake (Winnipesaukee, of course) it doesn't look like it was tooooo glorious a day to go anyways. I AM going up next Fri afternoon. Not sure if I'll be able to get a shelter permit or not at that time but if not I'll hang out in Conway and at the JDL later on, crap out in or on the car and head up EARLY on Sat AM. Maybe see ya up there next weekend. AL

Skistooge, If it's nice, I'm going in. Doin the same thing, arrive Fri, sleep in car, or I might try to pitch a tent next to the car, get up early Sat and hike in. I got a big bomb 1978 YELLOW Cadillac (bought it on ebay.....:-) and a little rust colored Border Terrier that will be tethered to my waist. Look for me, if it's nice (enough), you will hear me. /Saxman

Maybe I could help next weekend? Where are you coming from? Looking at the weather we may make it a sat, sun, monday trip up from CT. Let me know, could always stuff another warm body in the car. See ya, Bill

Thanks Bill. I appreciate the offer but as it happens, I managed to fix my old rust bucket and am currently all set. I'm going up this weekend. Probably end up heading up late Fri evening and sack out on or in my car. Been there done that before. lol. I want to go up early on Friday and get a shelter or tent site, however, I work nights and am probably gonna be kinda exhausted at 3 am to drive up that morning. Hope to see you up there on Sat. If I go Friday night, I may be around the Joe Dodge in the evening. Time will tell. Have fun and again, thanks. Al

Saxman: Look also for my beautiful dark grey with custom rusted doors 89 Celebrity. Hope to see you there. In theory, all going as planned, I should be up around 8 or so. See ya then. Al
