On Sunday Jan 23rd on my final run poaching lines at Tenney I took a spill and hurt my ribs. Monday the 24th got laid off. Want to ski but really can't because of the ribs. Had chest x-rays on the 26th and found out I have a hairline fracture. Took it easy for a few days and the ribs started feeling a little better. Figured I might try to sneak in a mellow ski on Monday. Monday @ 10am I'm sick as a dog having awful dry heaves and puking, this makes the ribs hurt more than after the fall. Big snow yesterday, blue bird today and now I'm playing Dr. while the bug runs through the rest of the fam.
Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
I'm afraid I'm not up to it physically but mentally I NEED to get out in the fluff and soon!
Thanks for listening to my moaning.

well first thing: skiing on thin cover is a recipe for disaster, so there's how this all started for you. folks give me crap for being a wuss cuz i don't want to hit rocks with my skis, but they are the ones getting hurt and destroying gear.

just yesterday at wildcat i was skiing a run with my aunt and uncle (great skiers). they suggested a run that i thought i had done early in the day. well, when we got to the "thin" area, i looked down and said to them, "are you kidding me?" people were crshing and thrashing all over the ledge and crap. not good skiing in the least and very dangerous. i pretty much sidestepped and garland my way down and it took me a while, but i didn't hit a single thing. my aunt had never waited for me for so long.

well good luck to you, hope you and your family feel better soon.

ski on snow, not rock and twigs. just my.02

I'm feeling ya man, broke 2 ribs after catching an edge at "Mildcat" last March.
Still feel it every now and then, coughing is hell....sneezing is just torture.
Give it some time, real tough injury as it hurts to do anything, even roll over in bed, and you cant really do anything for it but rest. Sending some vibes.

Thanks to all.

I hear you Rog... that's my plan going forward for sure.
I knew going into the section that it wasn't a good idea but didn't listen to that little voice. Paid the price.
