Never been out to the ADKs

Thinking about giving them a "go".

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Not looking for anyone's "Secret" stashes...just looking for some ideas on conditions and suggestions for a 1 or 2 day (overnight in the field) trip worth the effort...

Trying to get a buddy hooked on the joy of rewarded, self-propelled, uphill travel...

I seem recall hearing that ADKs are filling in nicely?

How about Greylock...is there anything on the ground...Will this impending snow be enough?

No idea about GLock but the daks were filling in until things melted out. Check out this site for back country trail and ski touring conditions in the Daks area but it will be awhile before it is good again unless something takes a dump on them soon. Enjoy it!

"skied" greylock today. 5-7 inches of blower powder over absolutely no base. Probably the worst / sketchiest thing I have ever skied. Hit ground every single turn.

Resist the urge, my friend, and heed Austin. I 'took my skis for a nice walk' on said trail today.

Made lemonade and skied a half-day at Berkshire East, after.

Almost drove up this AM...might still go tomorrow...hoping tonight snow will add to...I'm just jonesing to get out...

... but if you do go, bring true rock skis.

what ralph said, trails have enough for touring but unless you are fearless and have rock skis you really don't care about, it's not a good idea at all until more snow is had.
