Greeting and salutations. And welcome. You'll find lots of kindred spirits here. If you're trying, for some strange reason, to recover from your snow addiction, I'm afraid we will only enable you further....
Super-cool pic you've got on your profile page, btw. Where was that taken?

photo was taken back in march at STEAMBOAT. one of the top five days on the mountain EVER! it dumped about 5 feet the week before we got there and dumped another 3 feet within a 2 day period while we were there. (photo taken on day 2 of the dump) my wife was exstatic too (previous 3 trips out west we missed monsterdumps) we were due and man we got it!

Ahhh, those are some good trees to poach. Did you ever ditch the wife for a quick run to hit closet or shadows? Shadows is my favorite run outside of the Chutes at Steamboat...

Thanks guys! I'd definitely sign that extended winter petition...It's about time we had year-round snow in the bowl!!! (those Pacific NW guys have it easy, turns all year here are pretty hard!)
Anyway, my real name is Ben, in case you want to know, and I'm Ben Peters over on telemarktips.com forum, if anyone else is over there...
Glad to be part of the community!

Speaking of Avatars. What about you RR? The photo of RR at Piz Bol would do nicely.
Sure, I just sent a copy to Dave. I just a little shy, that's all......NOT!
Dude - Thats a serious PIC...
Where was that taken?
My son and I went up Piz Boe, in the Sella Group of the Dolomites. Not a very hard climb, longish though, 6000+ vertical feet in about 9 hrs round trip from the ski village of Corfusco in the Alto Badia. The mountain behind me is La Marmolada, Queen of the Dolomites, there's good skiing there right now, and some stellar alpine rock climbs.
We got in some long glissades on the way down, maybe 900 vertical feet or so.

Hey RR, I think I might have run into you at tucks Thursday April 11, 2002. It was an hazy/slightly overcast day with perfect snow. I was solo and so were you (If it was you). We met up near the bottom of the snowfields. Here is a picture of that day, does it ring a bell?

I stayed low that day...Alastair (son) copped a snowfield run after tagging the summit.

 at 12,000...didn't think much of it the first trip out (yeah i was young and naive) boozed HARD. hungover even HARDER :D
btw sweet pic castlerock, it's got my juices flowing already. i tore my achilles on st. pat's day at sunday river  (not booze related, just had a REALLY old pair of snowboard boots) and have been pretty much doing nothing since then. although got the go ahead from the dr. the other day to pretty much do what i want now. had to take a mad river rocket up to tucks this year as i could not get into my ski or snowboard boots. flying down sherburne with a 50lb. pack on a mad river rocket is pretty fun in case anyone is wondering
