Is there any two teams in any major sport that hate each other more. All I can think of was Montreal Canadians and Quebec Nordiques.

Was in fenway when the announced the rain-cancel. Game is rescheduled to tuesday, which is good enough for me! See you tuesday. Hey, that's tommorow! I got tickets for tommorows red sox game! How kewl is that?

I was asking the people sitting next to us if they would rather this weather all be snow, and we agreed snow would be better. And I realized that ski season can't start until baseball is over. And coincidentally, baseball starts just as tuckerman season rolls in. I have memories of driving up to tux on a thursday listening to the red sox game on the radio.

Baseball is the sport that interfeers with skiing the least. GO baseball!

With any luck we can celebrate the Red Sox making it to the World Series and the very near start to upcoming Tux Season on Thursday.

Go Sox. Bring on the snow.

how about the Red Sox fail to win another world series...Its alot more fun that way. Annnnnddd why would it be more fun that way???? Because the Red Sox have done nothing to deserve to win the world series. I am not talking about the organization but rather the individuals on the team. Some are downright classless and exemplify what is wrong with baseball. I thought I was watching a hockey game the other night. In that regard I believe the Marlins are most deserving, but alas I will be rooting for the Yankees... Just watch tonight KM, when the Yankees finish off the beloved Saux, you will see class, not any of that Manny or Pedro BS.

Targee-

I'd have to say both the Yanks and Sox showed some classless behavior out there on the field the other night. Do you think fighting in pullpen with an employee is class???? I don't.

I want to see the Sox or Cubs win for the fans, I could personally case less about the players. The fans have waited a longggg time. And, I like to see a World Series played in two of the oldest stadiums left in baseball.

shoot i always have to do this when I actually have to get work done...

In regards to the bullpen incident with nelson and garcia. I will wait to see the facts before making any statements. At the very least the guy working is accountable because he is an employee and should have nothing to do with the players. If nelson doesnt like the way he looks, or smells, or talks, the employee should get the hell out and keep his mouth shut. Now if there was no physical confrontations brought on by the guy and nelson did what he did, then shame on nelson too, but the guy is still accountable. And dont forget the whole situation was brought on by a guy throwing a baseball 93 mph at another persons head because...he was losing. and he calls other people cry babies??? Pedro and Manny, what a dicotomy because in the big picture if the red sox fall to the yanks this week, its because of them...

kfarrar
10-15-2003, 10:28 AM
If the Sox fall to Yanks it can also be said that its because the Sox's starting line is batting ummmm really badly. How is it they can hit so well in the preseason and blow it in the post season?

I really don't care all that much. If it weren't for the fact that there is some chance, all be it a small one, that the Cubs and Sox might face off I probably would care at all. I've lost more sleep this week and last staying up late watching gut wrenching games than I care for. Watching the Cubs loose a 3-0 lead in the top of the eight was downright maddening.

I hope this World Series end soon. I need my sleep. Ski season is right around the corner.

Old wisdom: A true Red Sox fan knows that the Sox will go to the brink looking scrappy and that they might win. And then they won't. We will still be fans, ask a Cubs fan, you will get the same response regarding their team.

As to having class: Nope, I'v seen the tapes, no class on that one day...none. Guilty parties in both uniforms. And, I might add, the game and league officials have some explaining to do as well.

Fortunately, both sides seem to have come to their senses. I hope that holds!

It may be the Yanks in 7, but I think it will be Game 7 for deciding the ALCS. 6 for the NLCS

targheehucker

Game 7 for the NLCS is in 8 hours...

and if the alcs goes to game 7 it will mean the yanks lose to Burkett, who basically is pitching today because my grandmother is injured??? 7.50 ERA and the season rests on him. oh dear. Just for sh*ts and giggles if there is a game 7, most fans want wakefield, kinda ironic that there is no faith in pedro...would be interesting to see

[Warning - long sports rant, which I've read far too many of these past weeks]

What makes me laugh about the whole Game 3 incidents is the game 4 & 5 pre-game announcement they had wakefield read telling the fans to behave. The fans ARE behaving.

At fenway last night it was all a very good natured rivalry. I pretended to have a lightsaber fight with a guy dressed like Darth Vader.

Spanky fan here at work wrote on his white board: "Is it physcially painful to be a red sox fan?"

If they win.. cough... WHEN they win it will end the talk of a curse and all that crap, and we will loose something we've all shared for a long time, like the man in the mountain.

If they were to loose (Which they WILL NOT) then the curse and all that crap would be even stronger and bigger and more powerfull and us fans would wear our red badge of discourage with even more pride.

(I just made that up, "red badge of discourage(C)" )
((And then googled it and found I wasn't the first))

BTW: I had a GREAT time last night at the park, but it could have been better.

I am not a big baseball fan, I am rooting for the Red Sox as much as I may be rooting at all, and as much to see a World Series between Fenway and Wrigley.

But I have to ask, Did Pedro cofess to aiming at the batter? Did he say he tried to hit him?

Because if he hasn't... There is nothing I hate more in sports than hearing an athlete get accused of something as bad as that without solid evidence.

And as for the fans being civil?
PULLEEAASSE, over turned cars and riots in the streets of Boston after they WON, not lost mind you, WON game 1! That was one of the most dispicable and irresponsible things I have ever seen fans do in the world of sports, and I'm a BRUINS FAN FER CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!

Oh wait, they still have to beat the Yankees again... in NYC... hmmm

Basically the game will start with the two best AL pitches (carreer stats, active pitchers, amazing stories), but the game will feature quick hooks and every reliever, starter and/or closer on both teams.

Between these teams there are maybe seven well known clutch hitters and a very high team batting average. Both teams have faced all the pitchers recently.......

Oh my, what factors will change the :scale: ? Well, it's gonna be chilly, that's good for Roger. Pressure game: edge to Joe, Grady hasn't been there as many times.

Team chemistry: I would have given the edge to the Sox ten days ago, but they have really got to focus now. Edge to the Sox on emotion alone.

I guess I'm gonna be late to work tomorrow. But I think I'll be one of many happy Sox fans.
