I began my preseason routine today. Why was I so keen on starting. :( I think as I set here ready for bed.

Started with a quick 5 miles of roller polling(like roller blading but done with poles). It's great fun going downhill at 25 + miles an hour dodging roadkill, accorns and pavement cracks. Definately sharpens your senses and balance. It's best done on dry pavement but it starting rain within the first mile so I stuck with it.

I Finished off at home with some crunches, legs lifts, pushups and tricep lifts.

Wow I hurt, but its the good kind of pain.

Thanks for all the advice.

Glad to hear you've started!!!

Also, one other thing that I've found really helps is to just get out there on the early season days at K-mart, or whatever else is open in early November, and just take it fairly easy. After 3-5 days you'll be back in the "groove", and it will improve your skiing strength a lot, before you go out and do some BC or tough stuff.

I started about two months ago, Running about 2 miles each day, Ive slacked off a little lately because of the busy semister but Im still tryin.

Its hard getting yourself back inshape especially through running, My oppinion theres not fun in running at all.

Urrg
But its worth it

Is it possible to be out of shape when you are in your twenties?

I was in worse shape in my twentyies than I am currrently - now in my thirties.

Thats because I wasn't skiing in my twenties :(

Thats because I wasn't skiing in my twenties :( Me too! Skiing provided an incentive to get into and stay in shape. And also an incentive to exercice to recover from and compensate for a skiing-related knee injury....
