Anyone out there going surfing these next few days? I'm doing my best to clear the schedule... things look solid into next weekend!

Dawn patrol tomorrow with the kid to kick things off... I'm thinking it will be too big for him after that for a while.... and then waiting and seeing...how big will it get?

Next Friday looks to be beyond epic...and this sunday-monday looks close to it, too.

thursday morning was amazing here in nh. i'm headed over to the wall and north in a little while to check the early pulse. i'm off the next 2 days so.......and all week looks good. cancelled a big franconia mtb epic tomorrow because of this. hopefully the paddle out won't be too much of a bear tomorrow, plus it's a weekend:rolleyes:

oh well, will find overlooked protected spot somewhere.

have fun!

Eli and I are headed offshore this morning to a new spot... psyched and just a bit intimidated....

Swell was filling in at dusk yesterday, but nothing epic. Danielle never made it that close. Earl, on the other hand, is looking scary.

There's a big kicker off the Azores right now which should reinforce the backside of the Danielle swell, especially for those who face east-- I'd look to Monday if I were you...

Have fun.

nice long peeling lefts this morning at the honey hole with just a few guys out. other side of the point i counted 150! bobbing and getting closed out on.

not big, but really well formed. surfed from 7:30-10am. back for more in the a.m. don't think tonight will be worth the drive down.

how'd you make out whit?

Lucky.
It never really got good here. I tried a few different places this am on the low side of the incoming tide, It was fun but didnt live up to expectations. Hopefully Earl is the $$$ storm. Looks like that one will get alot closer.
I'm heading out again tommorow after work, I might take a bigger board.

...but it looks like it will tail off slowly so more sessions may be in order.

We decided the boat ride wasn't worth bothering with and stayed local. The kid caught about 35 rides yesterday. Head high when you're 5' and 105 lbs! Nice peeling rights, just enough punch to get a little taste of intimidation...In another two years he'll be surfing (as well as skiing) circles around me.

Friday and Saturday will be epic, somewhere. The northeast wind areas here are truly terrifying and hazardous when it's D-T (Q...?) OH, so I may be outgunned friday, anyway. We'll see. Also will probably be playing the beach closure safety cat and mouse game.

I bet you northern east facing guys are getting it pretty nice right about now.

was about on par with thursday morning. thursdays post noreaster all cleaned up session was unreal in the morning with consistent head high peelers on the outside bars with way easy paddle out. today was close to the same and much better than the weekend. surfed for 3 hours this morning from 730-1030

1st hour was just me and another dude. by the eand of the second hour there were a total of 6 at the whole cove. unreal long lefts. long paddle back out. i'm cooked. early afternoon mtb ride then maybe more surf tonight.

the bars at many spots are fahked up right now, but there are some gems out there.

Keep the Hurricane conga line coming.
Hit the stinkpipe (sawyers), moved south to Fox Hills and then to 9th and then 12th as the tide was dropping this afternoon. Rode the 6'6" Flyer II. Lots of fun rides.
I gotta figure out a way to make a counterfit Rye Parking Permit. I love Sawyers, but parking without a permit is always a gamble.

it's no that far of a walk from free jenness area parking to the pipe. wow, you really moved around! i didn't surf near any of those spots, but i'm sure you scored some good ones.

how was the size holing up? i went for a two hour mtb ride with a bud at fort rock, got home and started drinking and eating. never made it back to the beach, but will be back tomorrow to the honey hole where i was today if the cams still show swell.

how do ya like the flyer 2? i was thinking of picking up a regular flyer 6/2 or 6/4.

Love it! Had the flyer for my last board and I like the swallow tail on the Flyer II alot more. I only wish I had bought the surftec version so I wouldnt have to by a new one next year. I love channell Island boards (yes I know I hate Burton, and there owned by Burton)

The closest parking spot open today was on cable road, and Straws Point wasnt fireing. Size was chest with a random head. PM me let me know where you were, its not like your giving up any secrets I've been roaming the 18 miles of NH coast since I was 14.

nice! ya, i'm always in the market for a new board. my only board the last two years is my lost round nose fish. great board from knee high on up to overhead. was a great winter surfing tool.

hint, i was north of the wall, but south of the pipe. hehe.

i just started surfing this season and i have been having a blast.. Can't belive i didn't try this before? been hitting the wall and points north, more towards ME. My after work romp brings me to higgins beach, where things have been fairly consistant at 3ft with bigger swells. being a beginner this is fine for me.. Hung out at Fox hill for a bit on Sat. and watched some locals shred it up.. i can't wait till i'm that good. until then i'm fine on the smaller waves and playing in the whitewash. i really didn't expect it to be so hard? i have sooo much more respect for those of you who can shred it..I tip my hat to youz..Can't wait for the weekend..

6 out of 7 days and this morning was probably the most fun. mid week no crowd, a bit smaller, but with better shape and still a ton of punch. fun factor was def at 11! hitting sawyers at the right tide after all of the working stiff have gone to the grind, priceless.

tomorrow should be as good or better.........man i could get used to this. warm water too.

I've migrated south to some old stomping grounds for the swell. Where I was surfing in Little Compton RI, the ground swell was around chest to head, not huge but really powerful with alot of push today. It was kind of funny at the end of 3hr session I realized I still had dry hair. I never fell off my board, and I never had to duckdive. Points are so fun!

I used to have a little house just north of Taylors Ln, so I'm pretty familiar with the Little Compton surf scene. When I lived there it was still relatively unknown, and well guarded. Now the cats so out of the bag I dont even feel like Im giving up any secretstralking about it online.
The next few days look like there going to get incredible!

man i haven't surfed little compton or the landing/corner in over 15 years. surfed down there a bunch when living on the cape.

been out the last 3 days, but can't say i haven't gotten my hair wet.

the new board is working like a charm. can't wait to get it on some good clean waves. i got the next 3 days off. i'll be staying close to home.

have fun all!

Found some sugar back home in New Hammy after work yesterday. Tried straws first and didnt catch much. it was really hard to get in. Even all the long boards seem to be dropping too late. Next went over to Rye Rocks, and was pleasantly suprised as I paddled out to be surrounded by mostly familiar faces. People I grew up watching, and watched grow up in the local scene. It was a lot of fun, and I caught a bunch.
I love how that place jacks up at low tide when there is ground swell!

Down Jersey way for the past four days.

Friday was a blast, a little overhead, nice southerly angle, 10 kt offshores 'til it went North around 3 p.m. Five hours of getting shacked and my arms were beat anyhow.

Sat - due east, OH - DOH closeouts. Everywhere.
Sun - Same, with SE wind chopping it all to hell.
Mon - Head high w/ some + sets, ripping offshores, hardly a makeable section.
Today - chest to maybe head on set, still poor direction making for closeout city, yet again.

I don't even know if the only good swell we've had in the last week was from Igor or from the severe T-storms the night before. They did seem pretty long period, but at that time the 'cane was > 1000 mi. away.

Hope y'all are getting yours better up there than we've been getting ours down here.

Lisa ain't looking so great right now. I've got high hopes for Matthew, Nicole and especially Otto though. My name is Otto and I love to get blotto.

today was the day i've been waiting for.

after a weekend of less than stellar self overhyped surfing. i took yesterday off due to being beat dead tired and didn't want to deal with the wind.

surfed this morning from 10am till noon in absolutely perfect chest to head high a-frame (very few closeouts) waves.

the points were busy. the beach break i surfed which is amazing hovering high tide when there's swell was unreal. the new lost blunt 6'0" is way too much fun!

glowing, just glowing.

hopefully hit the honey hole at low tide in the early a.m.

glad you boyz got after it!

...

Just kidding! HAHAHAHAHA
I don't regret for 1 second not being able to hit it yesterday. It looked great on the cam, and after living down there for the past 10 years, I know what the conditions are when everything lines up, especially the sun and wind. Oh so sweet. Daddy duty calls, though.
Long gone are the days of drop everything for multiple 3-5 hr sessions. I gotta get it when I can, because my number one gets me all the time now. I'm looking forward to next summer when I can take my baby out on my paddleboard in the small stuff. She'll be stoked. This winter will be her first pow sesh! Can you say extreme backyard sledding?
Oh ya, and for the record of chiming in my sessions, I did score sat, twice on sun, and again on mon for a quickie at straws on my sup. I'm definitely not complaining for lack of getting out. My wife is awesome!
