Hey Franko,
I'll be spending the New Years Holiday up in lovely Montreal. How far away are you from the city? I'd love to meet up with you for some skiing at Tremblant, but one of my friends doesn't ski or ride  , plus we have limited time. We'll be around drinking :beermug: :margarita: though.
:partyfavor: Happy New Year to all :partyfavor:

Hi Ski&Ride !
Welcome in Montreal !
About your question, I'm close to the north of Montreal. (downtown is about 45 minutes of bus + subway)(very complicated in car actually, cause of the snow in the streets instead of parking places !)
It's sad that you won't have the chance to ski... although Tremblant was anyway not really the best place to ski in the holidays (except if you like to wait 30-40 minutes in line-up to go up the hill !) (I think it's faster to take a ski-pack and hike ! LOL)
Yeah, it would be nice to meet you ! and if there is other people from the board that will be near MTL during the new years holidays (like Dave at St-Sauveur, at 30 minutes of MTL), we could be a little gang of TFTers to meet !!
The 2 days when I would have the more time to meet you (and may be other people of the board) would be on dec-31 and jan-2... as me too I'm enough limited in time, with 2 family parties and some preparation for my internship which begins on jan-5. Ish... 5 days at the beginning without internet connection... how will I survive !?!?

PS : congrats, I just saw that you were the 1st scorer of your team !!
I don't know at lot of players who have an average of 1,25 points per game played ;)

Thanks Franko, for the kind words about my team.
I will arrive in Montreal around 1:00pm on the 31st. I'll send you a private message with my cell phone number. Hopefully it will work up there. Otherwise, we'll be at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. Maybe there is a chance to meet up, and any other nearby TFTers! One of my friends speaks fluent French too.
Hope our schedules work out.

Wow, at the Queen Elizabeth ! ... are you in the city for a hockey game ? (It's the hotel where most of the professional teams usually stay)
For tomorrow : the snowstorm in the north will just begin in the afternoon I think, so I probably won't be on the slopes tomorrow. (I will be on them on jan-2, though)
I'm really not sure that your cell phone will work in Canada. If you find an internet access, you can write me a private message or you can e-mail me now at frankontour502@yahoo.com and I will give you the address where I have the more chances to see fastly a message from you tomorrow ;)
Anybody else will be near Montreal tomorrow ? (in case this could convince you to come, 6+ inches of snow expected tonite and tomorrow in the Laurentians)

More ski envy. :envy: Please take a run or two for me...and don't forget the :camera: .
Ski&ride: The Queen Eliz in Montreal is familiar to me from work-related travel. If you never stayed there before, it won't disappoint.
Wish I could join you and Franko :( -> But only two more days of :atwork: , then back to the Poconos for mini-mountain :skifemcool: .

But if the Canadiens were playing tomorrow night, we would have bought tickets to watch them. One of my friends stayed at the Queen Elizabeth before, for a women's hockey tournament. She recommended we stay there, and said it's very nice.
I sent you a private message through this message board, but I will email you also today.
SKI LAS: I am heading back home Thursday evening, stopping in Burlington, VT to visit a friend. No gear with me, so I won't be at the slopes this time. :(
