My vote is #7. 4 sided for those cold winds, and it's kind of own it's own path, no-one walking by to get to other lean-tos. And becuase it's kinda off the path, maybe it doesn't fill up first. Last two years I stayed up there it was empty thursday night. not a lot of room out front htough.

One year, on friday afternoon some guy showed up with a Yankees hat on and we gave him a ribbing, so he went away. Felt kinda bad, but hey, he had a yankees cap on.

I like #3...
3 sided... Great views of the valley... Rocks to hang out on... Sometimes a picnic table...
I prefer the open shelters... Less stinky!

I'm a Met fan - so I'd join right in on the Yankee stuff...

AND DONT START BLASTING ME OR I'LL PLAY THE BUCKNER CARD!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

DMC, how is that 120 million dollar team doing anyways? Actually.... Getting better... Involved in three 1 hit games... 2 Wins and 1 loss.

Now lets get back to the topic of hating the Yankees... :)

cabin #6 all the way! i like action, and that is where the action is!!! it's smack dab in the middle. only complaint, if it is hot you will smell the wretch of the ****ters! directly down wind! but it is close to water and i prefer 4 sided :shelters:  i want to go to tuckermans!! :D

I have never stayed in the shelters at hermit lake, but I will put my vote in for camping at GOS. Down at the base, in the woods, just left of the avalanche runout zone of the snowfields.

On Topic...
I want to camp at the GOS next year actually... We were talking about it last week...

Before we get to far into the yankee bashing, my grandfather's brother is Bob Sheppard, the announcer for the Yankees, aka "The Voice of God."

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/comment/sbcol15.htm

I call my self a Red Sox fan, but am not a "True" red sox fan in that I don't hate the yankees completley.

And something about tuckerman ravine, oh yeah: Most every time I'm driving up to the ravine the Red Sox are playing and I'm listening on the radio. Then when i get to the lean-to I can tell people who won.... I mean, tell them that the red sox won.

My favorite used to be my Celebrity but I may switch my allegience to my spankin'-new 91 Taurus wagon. :teardrop: lol. The only thing missing is the :outhouse: . Maybe a small trailer and a Porta-Potty? Hmmmmm. I've only stayed in the shelters a couple times (although I have kinda gotten stuck on-trail after dark and had to bivy in the woods a few times :tent: :sleepingbag: ...I like it, in reality. I would have to say that I like, if I'm recalling correctly, #3. Have fun, be safe. Al :skistooge:

Well :ma: , I'm going to be no big help.

Except I suggest adding the :outhouse: to the map, and respelling 'Sherburn' as 'Sherburne'.

Well... then again...

?b are the tent platforms.

Maybe we should get a volunteer to scout this out for you M@. Take some 'smell' samples as well maybe... hee hee
