WBZ-TV has wet snow forecast for the mountains. The "future cast" imagery had a lot of purple surrounding the grey and white spots. Purple being flakey mix. I noticed there was no violet (redish) which stands for that nasty, drippy mix.

I'm covering for folks this week so I can't get out to play in it

I know y'all will do a good job of not letting it go to waste...I'm counting on it!

by the way, love this little understatement from the Rangers in the avy forecast:

"Keep watching the daily Avalanche Advisory, currently around a foot of snow is projected for Mt. Washington for Tuesday night and Wednesday. This may cause avalanche danger to rise up from the current Low rating."

HAHA!

Should we really be posting links to weather reports on the internet... here on the internet? Won't it just encourage overuse by hoardes of ill-prepared skiers and riders heading out for their share of this thing that they discovered on the internet called powpow?

haha... I'll go with that. But at some point as the snowpack fades away, the best and brightest become the most desperate and obsessed. At least some of them are the same folks all along.

As it happens, I'm total crap at golf, all two times that I have tried it.

Indeed! I am looking for a way to put the fork back in the drawer and outta my...!indeed... just leave it the fork behind! :D

Also, check the Avy report - higher density snows falling first, then lower density stuff on top as temps drop. Perfect set-up!!!!

Absolutely, Drew! It's been a while since we had one. We just need to fire out a date and make it happen.

love this quote from the MWO's F6 regarding the snow and precip yesterday:

28TH: PRECIP & SNOWFALL TOTALS PARTIALLY ESTIMATED DUE TO COMPLETE BURIAL OF PRECIPITATION CAN IN A SNOW DRIFT.
